The 64-year-old TV judge took to Instagram to post a video of herself soaking in an ice bath in a yellow swimsuit.

The chic swimsuit showed off her slender figure and featured a scoop neckline and low back design.

In the video, the star took several deep breaths as she gathered the courage to slowly submerge herself in the pool.

The ballroom dancer, who wore no makeup for the cold water therapy session, had a shocked expression on her face as she hit the water and lowered her arms.

The star revealed that when she first started cold water therapy she could only sit in a temperature of six degrees, whereas now her body has adapted to the icy temperature of just three degrees.

During the video, she said: “This morning is the first day of Strictly. I’ve done my exercises and I’m about to get in the pool.”

Remembering a pair of pants that had previously not fit her, Shirley said, ‘Remember those pants that were too tight?’

She added: ‘I’ll be posting them today and the results I promised myself when I did the show would be much better.’

The star then said: “I’m going for a dip anyway. I froze. I took a breath and then stuck my arms in. Oh, that’s a lot of breathing,” as she bravely dove into the pool.

Once settled in the pool, Shirley revealed her progress: ‘I started at six degrees, got to four degrees and today I’m at three degrees, so I’m getting colder and colder.’

He jokingly added, “Strength in the mind,” before taking a deep breath as he gathered the courage to fully immerse himself in the freezing ice bath.

On Saturday, the fifteen couples will perform for the first time in an attempt to win over the judges, after the couples were revealed for the first time last week.
