Nick Knowles has revealed details about his knee injury after he was left on crutches and forced to pull out of Saturday’s show.
The DIY SOS star, 62, will miss Film Week just a week after his future on the show was put in doubt due to a shoulder problem, before it was reported that he had fallen and He injured his knee during rehearsals.
Appearing on spin-off series It Takes Two via link alongside partner Luba Mushtuk on Friday, just hours after being injured, he said: “During our first rehearsal, our dress rehearsal today on stage.”
“Unfortunately I damaged my knee and it hurts quite a bit, so the physiotherapists have decided that I have to have an MRI.”
As Luba chimed in: “Unfortunately we won’t be dancing tomorrow, but we really hope the knee is better next week and we can get back on the dance floor.”

But looking on the bright side, Nick joked: “Even if we have to polish up the crutches, I’m determined to come back and try to dance for you next week.”
Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is a type of scan that uses strong magnetic fields and radio waves to produce detailed images of the inside of the body.
Comes after Strictly the fans were was left furious after Nick was given a free pass for next week’s show, calling the decision “unfair”.
BBC bosses confirmed in a statement that “under the show’s rules” Nick and Luba would be given a “see you later” until next week, however fans were left furious at the idea of another couple being eliminated on Sunday.
On Instagram they wrote: “I say… I should quit now… it’s not fair to any of the others”: “I think if they can’t dance because of an injury, they should retire.”
‘Looks like #NickKnowles will NOT be dancing this weekend #Strictly. As is usual in the rules, they will be given a free pass for next Saturday. Do I like these rules? No, I’ve always said, if you miss a week, you should automatically be out of the program.”
‘Surely then no one should go home as it’s unfair for anyone to go home this week when someone gets a free pass due to injury like this happens most years’: ‘If he doesn’t come back, that’s final 3 people, if we lose someone this week. Since it’s early, let everyone stay. Who knows what other injuries we will have.”

It comes after Strictly fans were furious after Nick was given a free pass to next week’s show, branding the decision “unfair” after they confirmed in a statement that “under the rules of the program” the couple would receive a “see you later.
Meanwhile, other fans demanded that Olympian Tom Dean, who left the show last week in a decision described as “bizarre and wrong”, return in Nick’s place.
Saying: ‘Bring Tom back!’: ‘Bring Tom back to take his place after he was shamefully and unfairly evicted last week!’: ‘Maybe we should bring @tomdean00 back to do it again week’.
Nick later broke his silence and took to social media to share a snap of the BBC’s statement, writing: “I am absolutely devastated and feel very, very sad.”
The BBC statement read: “Nick Knowles is off until next week due to injury, I hope he will be better next weekend, but they are still sending someone home this weekend which isn’t fair.” “I think if someone has a break until next week, they should do it.” May all celebrities get a second chance next week.
A source also said the sun: ‘Nick won’t be able to take part in Strictly tomorrow night after hurting his knee. He was at a dress rehearsal with his partner Luba Mushtuk when he jumped and landed awkwardly.
‘Nick has hurt his knee and now has to use crutches to get around. It’s such a devastating blow for him and he has the support of the Strictly team.
“They are sending him for scans and are doing everything they can to make sure he is okay. Nick had to fight to make sure he could take part in the first live show after hurting his arm and shoulder and he did very well .
“This new injury has been a real blow and he is incredibly upset about it.”
This is far from the first time Strictly stars have battled serious injuries during their time on the show, as Zara McDermott suffered a serious leg fracture last year but decided to push ahead and perform.
Just last week, Nick was left sweating his place after suffering the injury while changing a tire when his car broke down while driving to his 62nd birthday last week.
On Instagram, Nick said: ‘On the way to the studios, this is the day of the show. I’ve had two days to learn the dance as best I can.’
“I promise to give it my all tonight and try to do well, (fellow pro) Luba (Mushtuk) has done her magic by choreographing something incredible.”
“All I have to do now is perform it. It’s been a tough week but I’m really excited to dance later tonight and don’t worry about me, the shoulder is getting stronger every day.”
‘Thank you for all your supportive wishes and all the love you have sent me and remember, I am in the bottom four because of last week. If I don’t dance well tonight I might be in trouble, so please vote to keep me and Luba in the competition!’
Nick was given the green light by show bosses, a decision strengthened by his popularity with viewers, and returned to dancing in the second week, when he scored 21 points out of 40.
A source said The mirror: ‘Nick and Luba’s attitude is that the show must go on and they were thrilled when they gave it the go-ahead. They will even try to lift it.
