Strictly Come Dancing has revealed the first songs and dances from the new series, as this year’s couples prepare to make their debut on the BBC ballroom.

On Saturday, the fifteen couples will perform for the first time in an attempt to win over the judges, after the couples were revealed for the first time last week.

This year, the couples leading the dance will be Tasha Ghouri and Aljaž Škorjanec, who will dance a Cha Cha to Espresso by Sabrina Carpenter.

Pete Wicks and Jowita Przystał are ready to perform a Paso Doble to a most unlikely song: Breathe by The Prodigy.

Meanwhile, after wowing viewers with a hilarious joke about the NHS, Chris McCausland will also perform a Cha Cha to The Beatles’ Twist and Shout.

Sam Quek and Nikita Kuzmin will dance the foxtrot to Where Did Our Love Go by The Supremes, while Jamie Borthwick and Michelle Tsiakkas will perform a Viennese waltz to Beautiful Things by Benson Boone.

Montell Douglas and Johannes Radebe will also perform the Foxtrot to Is You Is or Is You Ain’t My Baby by Dinah Washington.

Dr Punam Krishan and Gorka Marquez are set to dance a Cha Cha to Kylie Minogue’s Love At First Sight, while Sarah Hadland and Vito Coppola have been challenged to dance a fast-paced Quickstep to Dolly Parton’s 9 to 5.

Toyah Willcox and Neil Jones will dance the fiery Tango to Madonna’s Ray Of Light, while fan favourites JB Gill and Amy Dowden will perform the Waltz to Leo Sayer’s When I Need You.

Nick Knowles and Luba Mushtuk will Jive to Starship’s We Built This City, and Tom Dean and Nadiya Bychkova will Tango to Harry Styles’ Golden.

In a fun nod to their footballing heyday, Paul Merson and Karen Hauer will dance the American Smooth to Fat Les’ Vindaloo, and Shayne Ward and Nancy Xu will dance a Samba to Stevie Wonder’s Do I Do.

Completing the lineup will be Wynne Evans and Katya Jones, who will dance a samba to Help Yourself by Tom Jones.

Ahead of Saturday’s live show, presenter Tess Daly also gave fans a glimpse of the dances they can expect.

In a voice note sent to her husband Vernon Kay on his BBC Radio 2 show, she said: ‘Hi Vern, the excitement is palpable in the studio today.

‘It’s really exciting, because all 15 celebrities will be dancing live for the first time in tomorrow night’s show.

‘Costumes are being finalised, artificial tanning sessions are being booked. We have sambas, two sambas, and the samba is a challenge as a first dance, so it’s going to be really interesting.

‘We have cha chas, and when I tell you that you can’t miss Paul Merson’s American Smooth, I promise I’m not kidding.
