September: Ellie Aitken, a lawyer turned fashion designer, joins an investment firm, Pallas, which is a rival to her husband’s company, Aitken Investment Management.
October: Ms Aitken posts a gushing birthday message to her friend Hollie Nasser, saying she is ‘so lucky to have you in my life’.
November: It is publicly revealed that Aitken and Nasser’s marriages have ended.
Mr Nasser, Mr Aitken’s business partner at Aitken Investment Management, is stepping down as a board director and is replaced by his brother Damien.
Ms Aitken also resigns as an executive from the company over the same weekend.
Days later, police issued a domestic violence warrant against Mr. Nasser on behalf of his ex-wife.
Mr Aitken confirms that he is in a relationship with Ms Nasser.
“I can confirm that I am separated from Ellie Aitken and am in a relationship with Hollie Nasser,” Aitken said.
‘My only concern is my children and I will not make any further comments.’
December: Mr Nasser has spoken out against the AVO and announced that he plans to fight the allegations when the case goes to court on 15 December.
Mr Aitken is pictured running errands with Ms Nasser and delivering items to her home in Sydney’s eastern suburbs.
Later that evening, Ms Aitken posts photos of herself alongside Mr Aitken at her son’s rugby awards night.
It is revealed that Ms Nasser’s car had been vandalised and that someone had written the word “whore” on one of the doors.
Mrs Aitken leaks heated messages between her and Mrs Nasser as their friendship deteriorates.
Mr Aitken is later seen at the family home, involved in a confrontation with Ellie as she collects her clothes.
The Nassers were also seen together with their children.
Ellie Aitken reveals she’s taking a “break from social media” as she deals with the fallout from her marriage breakdown.
“The truth is that, despite the support of friends and family, I have not been able to cope well with the lies, gossip and deeply hurtful insinuations that have surrounded the breakup of my relationship,” she said.
“I have tried to be brave and have tried to control my feelings and my well-being even though I have had no control over the reasons for my pain.”
It is also revealed that Nasser withdrew up to $7.5 million from Aitken’s firm.
