talking to heat magazineChris, 47, and Dianne, 35, reflected on the fear they felt minutes before stepping out on the floor for their first dance.
Dianne said: ‘I’ve never seen him turn that shade of gray in my life. It was ghostly. It terrified me, because we weren’t sure how Chris would cope with the audience and the sound.
“Now the gray slowly approaches the skin tone as the weeks go by, but there is a slight tone each week.”

Despite his initial fears, Chris impressed viewers with his dancing at the first live show, earning a solid score of 23.
Chris then shared that when he first agreed to be on the show, his biggest fear was not wanting to be seen “as a calamity” or the “sympathy vote.”
He added: “I said no to this several times because I just didn’t think I would be able to do it.” I don’t want to be the sympathy vote.
‘I don’t mind being a bad dancer. I don’t mind people laughing at me because I’m a comic dancer, but I didn’t want it to be a calamity because I couldn’t see.’
Last week, Chris and Dianne narrowly avoided dancing after finishing last in the leaderboard with their Halloween-themed Samba.
This week, the couple will tango to Rock And Roll All Nite by KISS, as part of the show’s first Icons Week.
Bookmakers currently have Chris and Dianne as 9/4 favorites to win the series, but if they do so it could leave the show in a difficult situation as it may not be able to go on the Strictly Live tour.
Their comedy show, Yonks, has dates throughout January and February that directly clash with Strictly’s live theater show.

If he wins the show, many fans would expect him to take part in the tour, which always features the top stars of each series.
A source told the Mirror: ‘Craig has suggested that all of this year’s favorites will be there, but that’s not true. How can Chris be in two places at once?
“As it stands, Chris can’t do it because all the shows on his January 17 comedy tour are colliding.”
Chris is currently positioned as the firm favorite with Love Island’s Tasha Ghouri next at odds of 4/1, followed by Miranda actress Sarah Hadland at 10/1 and EastEnders’ Jamie Borthwick at 16/1.
A Ladbrokes spokesperson said: “Chris McCausland appears to be winning the competition this year after extending his lead at the head of the strict betting.”
“As it stands, Tasha is her main rival, but the bettors only see one winner.”
It comes after fans were left “in tears” after watching Chris and Dianne’s “perfect” dance routine last week, wowing viewers with a waltz that paid tribute to Liverpool.
