Strictly’s Chris McCausland ‘leaves BBC bosses with a big headache’ – as he remains the bookies’ favourite to win the show

Strictly Come Dancing star Chris McCausland has reportedly left BBC bosses with a major headache as he remains the bookies’ favorite to win the show.

The comedian, 47, who is blind, is adored by fans of the show on which he collaborates with professional Dianne Buswell.

Bookmakers currently have him as the 9/4 favorite to win the series, but if he does, it could leave the show in a difficult situation. The mirror reports that he cannot do the Strictly live tour.

The publication claims that his comedy show, Yonks, which has dates throughout January and February, will clash directly with Strictly’s live theater show.

If he won, many fans would expect him to participate in the tour in which the main stars of each series always participate.

A source said: “Craig has suggested that all of this year’s favorites will be there, but that’s not true.” How can Chris be in two places at once?

“As it stands, Chris can’t do it because all the shows on his January 17 comedy tour are colliding.”

Chris is currently positioned as the firm favorite with Love Island’s Tasha Ghouri next at odds of 4/1, followed by Miranda actress Sarah Hadland at 10/1 and EastEnders’ Jamie Borthwick at 16/1.

A Ladbrokes spokesperson said: “Chris McCausland appears to be winning the competition this year after extending his lead at the head of the strict betting.”

“As it stands, Tasha is her main rival, but the bettors only see one winner.”

The Strictly live tour was first launched in January 2009 with 2008 winner Tom Chambers among the line-up. All the winners since then have participated.

In a statement last month confirming the return of the Strictly live event for 2025, hosted once again by It Takes Two’s Janette Manrara, judge Craig Revel Horwood stated: “Strictly fans are in for a great treat on the tour in alive: it will be bigger and better than ever.

‘Audiences will be able to enjoy all the glitz and glamor of the television show and see their favorite celebrities and dancers up close and personal. And with Motsi joining us for the first time, it’s going to be even more FABULOUS!’

MailOnline has contacted the BBC and Chris for comment.

A spokesperson for the tour told The Mirror: “Casting for the Strictly Live Tour 2025 is still being decided.”

It comes after fans were left ‘in tears’ after watching Chris and Dianne’s ‘perfect’ dance routine in Saturday’s episode.

Chris and the Australian professional, 35, surprised viewers as they performed a waltz while paying tribute to Liverpool.

Dianne looked incredible in a sparkly navy blue dress, while Chris sported a smart matching suit and red shirt.

Fans were “sobbing” over the emotional routine, flooding X (formerly Twitter) with praising comments, begging to “just give Chris the shiny ball trophy.”
