Strictly Come Dancing star Angela Scanlon has revealed the reason why she’s shunning one of the show’s biggest traditions – getting a spray tan.
The presenter, 39, said she proudly showed off her naturally pale skin while taking part in the show in a bid to set a positive example for her two daughters.
Appearing on Lorraine on Thursday with her dance partner Carlos Gu, Angela referred to her alabaster skin tone, saying: “I’m transparent, I’m almost blue.
‘I have two daughters and I tell them to feel good about themselves, so I have to embody that myself.’
Angela previously admitted it took her 15 years to accept her skin color, adding that “she doesn’t need fake tan to feel confident.”

She said The sun last month: ‘I feel really touched when I receive a message from someone saying that their daughter suddenly thinks it’s okay not to wear fake tan because she saw me on television with my white legs out.
‘I never felt that when I was young. I’ve never seen anyone so pale on television, and obviously there are varying levels of that in so many minorities.
‘There has been absolutely no backlash from Strictly. If you want to wear brown, you wear it. If you don’t do it, you don’t do it.’
Last week, Angela and Carlos scored just 28 out of 40 points for their Viennese waltz, with head judge Shirley Ballas scolding her for dancing on the tips of her ballet toes.
The star was left feeling embarrassed after accidentally making an inappropriate joke on Thursday’s episode of It Takes Two.
