Kelvin Fletcher (photo) has become the one to watch on the Strictly dance floor
From the moment he jumped on the strict dance floor in September to play a sizzling, hip-swinging samba, Kelvin Fletcher was the dancer to watch on Saturday night.
His success is all the more unexpected as Kelvin, 35, was drafted at the last minute to replace the injured Made In Chelsea star Jamie Laing and has not had any previous dance training.
Indeed, he spent 20 years mainly in overalls such as the depressed, unfortunate Andy Sugden in the TV soap Emmerdale.
Yet his dazzling movements and buff physique have led to comparisons with the late dancer and actor Patrick Swayze.
With a score of 8/11, Kelvin is now the favorite to win Strictly Come Dancing, and has also reportedly offered £ 250,000 to shine in Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat in the West End next year.
Kelvin lives in Oldham with his wife, Liz, and children, Marnie, three and Milo, ten months.
He works together with the popular professional dancer Oti Mabuse in the show.
The admiration is a pleasant surprise for him. Kelvin commented that Strictly helped him make the transition from Emmerdale: & # 39; It's refreshing for me.
& # 39; (The audience) has only seen me in a certain way, and maybe I have that Strictly shocked a few people.
& # 39; But that's because they have seen me play Andy Sugden for so long. & # 39;
Certainly, when Kelvin made his debut at Emmerdale in 1996, no one could have predicted that the boy with his teeth in his mouth would become a heartbreaking blow.
Later, however, his changing physique saw him become the piece of the Dales.
By the time he left the show in 2016, he often seemed to be topless or not on the screen – giving him the nickname & # 39; Phantom Flasher & # 39; got under his castmates.
Judging by the sensation that he causes, a topless dance can certainly only be a matter of time. So how did Kelvin go from nerd to god?

With prominent front teeth, 12-year-old Kelvin Fletcher makes his Emmerdale debut in July 1996 as Andy.
The son of thief Billy Hopwood, he is adopted by Jack and Sarah Sugden.
Then Kelvin described herself as & # 39; small, caring and attractive & # 39; and said his worst habit was to pick his nose.
A real barn burner
Four years later, the Sugdens shared Sarah & # 39; s affair with Richie Carter.
Andy sets the barn in the family so that Jack can get the insurance in cash, but Sarah dies in the fire.
Andy gets three years for manslaughter.

Kelvin becomes hirsute at the age of 24. As Andy, he has an affair with Jo Stiles (Roxanne Pallett), whom he marries.
In real life, Kelvin goes out with Liz Marsland, whom he met in elementary school when they were eight years old. By 2009, he and Liz are seriously committed.
He said: & # 39; If you know someone from elementary school, you can't get to know anyone much better than that. I am happiest with people who have known me for years. & # 39;
Difficult storylines: Andy Sugden appears in court for custody request for Sarah – the daughter he had with Debbie Dingle
Yorkshire Lothario: Kelvin has acquired the physique that fits his emerging role as Lothario
Andy Sugden looks rather suspicious than sexy and appears in court for a custody request for Sarah – the daughter he had with Debbie Dingle.
Kelvin has become a Lothario at Emmerdale and has acquired the matching physique.
The affair with Bernice Blackstock (Samantha Giles) continued until his exit from the show in 2016 and offered many opportunities for shirtless shenanigans.

But who could have predicted that Kelvin would be so good?
Jamie was afraid she had to withdraw and when Kelvin stormed the dance floor with Oti, his mouth fell open.

Rumba lifted the roof
After the ordinary rumba of Kelvin and Oti in week four, Judge Shirley Ballas said: & # 39; You have just sent my temperature through the roof. & # 39;
Kelvin is not afraid of falling prey to the & # 39; Strict curse & # 39; with Oti (who is married to a dancer).
He said: & # 39; Two strangers spend ten hours a day connected by the hip, naturally moving and very close … If you haven't adopted that, something is missing. & # 39;
