Strictly Come Dancing fans were left furious after Nick Knowles was given a free pass to next week’s show after he pulled out due to injury.
The DIY SOS star, 62, will miss Film Week just a week after his future on the show was put in doubt due to a shoulder problem, before it was reported that he had fallen and He injured his knee during rehearsals, leaving him on crutches.
BBC bosses confirmed in a statement that “under the show’s rules” Nick and his partner Luba Mushtuk would have a “see you later” until next week, however fans were left furious.
Taking to X one wrote: ‘Looks like #NickKnowles will NOT be dancing this weekend #Strictly. As is usual in the rules, they will be given a free pass for next Saturday. Do I like these rules? No, I’ve always said, if you miss a week, you should automatically be out of the program.”

A source also said the sun: ‘Nick won’t be able to take part in Strictly tomorrow night after hurting his knee. He was at a dress rehearsal with his partner Luba Mushtuk when he jumped and landed awkwardly.
‘Nick has hurt his knee and now has to use crutches to get around. It’s such a devastating blow for him and he has the support of the Strictly team.
“They are sending him for scans and are doing everything they can to make sure he is okay. Nick had to fight to make sure he could take part in the first live show after hurting his arm and shoulder and he did very well .
“This new injury has been a real blow and he is incredibly upset about it.”
This is far from the first time Strictly stars have battled serious injuries during their time on the show, as Zara McDermott suffered a serious leg fracture last year but decided to push ahead and perform.
Just last week, Nick was left sweating his place after suffering the injury while changing a tire when his car broke down while driving to his 62nd birthday last week.
On Instagram, Nick said: ‘On the way to the studios, this is the day of the show. I’ve had two days to learn the dance as best I can.’
“I promise to give it my all tonight and try to do well, (fellow pro) Luba (Mushtuk) has done her magic by choreographing something incredible.”
“All I have to do now is perform it. It’s been a tough week but I’m really excited to dance later tonight and don’t worry about me, the shoulder is getting stronger every day.”

Nick was given the green light by show bosses, a decision strengthened by his popularity with viewers, and returned to dancing in the second week, when he scored 21 points out of 40.
A source said The mirror: ‘Nick and Luba’s attitude is that the show must go on and they were thrilled when they gave it the go-ahead. They will even try to lift it.
Luba has told Nick that the move he was planning for the routine may be safe for him, so as things stand, they’re still going to do it. Nick is all for it because the last thing he wants is the sympathy vote.
“Now that he’s been told he can perform this week, he’s determined to go out there and give the routine everything he’s got.
“He and Luba are now rehearsing in Elstree to help them make up for the time they have lost this week.”
Former Strictly Professional Janette Manrara also confirmed that the presenter would be staying on the show while hosting Thursday’s installment of It Takes Two.
Nick had a sling placed on his left arm after the injury and has been waiting to see if he can dance.
The TV star then shared a video on Instagram, revealing that her recovery is going well and that a final decision will soon be made on whether she will be able to dance at Saturday’s live show.

‘What a little update for you. “I just finished soaking in the bath after a day of training which went very, very well,” Nick told his followers.
‘The shoulder is repairing very well. I also saw a great physiotherapist today and he helped me enormously.”
She revealed that the producers and her medical team will decide on Thursday whether she will dance over the weekend.
So tomorrow I will have another day of training. Tomorrow afternoon we will decide if I can compete on Saturday,” Nick explained, adding that he was feeling hopeful.

Earlier on Wednesday, Nick revealed that he was on his way to the training studio to meet his partner Luba and see what, if anything, he could do and hopefully get the go-ahead to dance.
“It’s really a great day for me,” he told his fans in a video. “I’m very, very hopeful that we’ll find out that I can dance on Saturday.”
Sharing the video of him walking into the dance studio, Nick said: ‘Good morning everyone. Well, it’s been an interesting few days, I can assure you. There’s a lot to think about, I’ve seen a lot of people. I have a lot of people trying to make everything work.
“I feel good, I still have my arms in a sling to make sure they are rested when I’m not wearing it, but today I’m going to try dancing to see what my capabilities are.”

He added: “I would really like to continue being part of the competition, so keep your fingers crossed for me.”
