Strictly Come Dancing star Tasha Ghouri ‘will be paired with returning Aljaž Škorjanec in a bid to bring back the feel-good factor’ after the show was rocked by bullying allegations

Strictly Come Dancing professional Aljaž Škorjanec is reportedly set to pair up with former Love Islander Tasha Ghouri for the upcoming series of the BBC show.

According The sunThe partnership was revealed on Wednesday as bosses want to bring back a “feelgood factor” to the show, amid the recent spate of bullying allegations.

A source told the publication: “Strictly bosses want to produce the most amazing, warm and fluffy show possible. There can be no scandal.”

“They want to create moments that win awards, not complaints.”

Slovenian-born professional dancer Aljaž, 34, announced his return to the ballroom in July this year for the show’s 20th anniversary, after it was confirmed that Giovanni Pernice would not be rejoining the line-up.

The star, who welcomed daughter Lyra with partner Janette Manrara in July last year, said she hoped to make the one-year-old proud after her two-year hiatus from the BBC show.

And it looks like she will, as the rumoured pairing comes as 26-year-old Tasha, who is trained in commercial dance, is said to be the contestant all the male professional dancers want to pair up with.

Meanwhile, 61-year-old Nick Kowles is the “big favourite” among the female pros.

This comes after fans declared bosses made a “bad decision” following reports that professional Kai Widdrington will not have a celebrity partner in the new series.

The dancer was paired with Angela Rippon for the 2023 edition, but sources said that due to the smaller number of female celebrities, he was left out this year.

Fans took to social media to share their fury at the news, admitting they are “absolutely devastated” that Kai will not be dancing with another star this year.

There were also those who were quick to question the decision to bring back professional Aljaž, if at least one professional dancer was not going to be paired with a female celebrity.

X’s posts included: ‘What!!! No!!! @kaiwidd must have a partner. Does that mean @Mr_NJones doesn’t have a partner either?’

Commenting on Aljaz’s recent return, one fan also posted: “They brought back an old pro and gave him a partner so they can bench them… what the hell is going on?! Why?”

However, Tasha appears to be in high spirits ahead of her appearance on Strictly and last week shared a series of sweet snaps from her holiday in Marrakech with boyfriend Andrew Le Page.

The model and influencer, who met Andrew, 29, on the 2022 series of Love Island, shared a series of loved-up snaps, sensational outfits and picturesque dinner spots with her followers after celebrating his 26th birthday in style.

In a candid snap, the couple looked more in love than ever as they gazed into each other’s eyes while dressed in elegant evening attire.

The couple recently sparked rumors that they had secretly tied the knot in August.

The reality TV star posted a series of loving photos on her Instagram wearing a white dress and holding a bouquet of flowers.

And fans came to the conclusion that the couple had finally tied the knot.

Tasha was revealed as the sixth celebrity confirmed for Strictly, starting in September.

She is already the favourite to win the 20th Anniversary Series, currently priced at 4/1 by BetMGM.

Close behind are JLS boy band member JB Gill, currently priced at 5/1, and 2005 X Factor winner Shayne Ward, currently priced at 11/2.

Commenting on the upcoming series of Strictly, BetMGM’s UK director Sam Behar said: ‘Tasha Ghouri’s previous dance experience as a commercial street style dancer potentially gives her an edge where she is currently the favourite, priced at 4/1.

‘JB Gill should also feel right at home on the dancefloor, thanks to his years of performances with JLS, and is priced at 5/1.

“But it’s still very early days, as the show isn’t expected to start until mid-September, and with such a strong lineup, we’re expecting fierce competition and surprises as the season progresses.”
