Strictly Come Dancing bosses have released a major update on Amy Dowden after she was forced to quit the show this week.
The Welsh ballroom dancer, 34, who is believed to be in remission after battling breast cancer, returned to show business after a two-year absence in September.
Amy was admitted to hospital following a reported collapse at Elstree Studios, the BBC show’s Hertfordshire base, after suffering a “medical emergency” backstage during Saturday’s live Halloween special.

“She is delighted that her fellow professional dancer, Lauren Oakley, will be able to step into rehearsals and perform in Saturday’s show for JB Gill’s Couple’s Choice dance.

Moments before her hospital run, Amy had performed the Foxtrot to Toploader’s hit Dancing In The Moonlight with her celebrity partner, JLS star JB Gill.
But fans noticed that the dancer was partially seated during her last performance.
Her strict bosses have since replaced her with professional dancer Lauren Oakley, who was originally left without a partner for this year’s show, while she recovers.
Lauren will rehearse with JB in Amy’s absence after the singer avoided the dance, finishing fifth on the Strictly leaderboard with a collective score of 32 from the show’s judges Shirley Ballas, Motsi Mabuse, Craig Revel-Horwood and Anton du Beke.
A source said the sun: ‘Lauren will step in today to train with JB. It’s unclear when Amy will return, but everyone wants her to rest and get better.
Show insiders feared Amy, who also battles Crohn’s disease, could leave the show after her collapse on Saturday night.
Amy’s mother, Gillian Dowden, 65, said she had spoken to her daughter several times since her worrying collapse backstage after Saturday’s show.
Speaking at Amy’s family home in Caerphilly, South Wales, the mum said: “We spoke on the phone today and she is fine.”

However, paramedics were called to the program’s base in Hertfordshire after 9pm on Saturday night following reports of a “medical emergency”.
A spokesperson for the East of England Ambulance Service said: “We were called shortly after 9pm on Saturday night to a medical emergency at Elstree Studios in Borehamwood.”
‘An ambulance was sent to the scene. One patient, an adult woman, was taken to Barnet Hospital for further care.
