The incident occurred at the end of the first half when Robertson went to assistant referee Hadjidakis to protest, and the latter raised his arm and hit the Scotsman in the face and neck, which led to a wave of protests by Liverpool players.
Robertson shouted: “He elbowed me in the throat, the linesman hit me in the throat!” Before his colleagues removed him from the arbitration staff, he received a yellow card.
