Street Fighter 6 has always been one of the most anticipated fighting games of the year, so there was no doubt that it would come out with such enthusiasm and success after that long wait, and from the amazing numbers we see on Steam despite its release a few days ago, it seems that the game will reach More than just success.
According to SteamDB Street Fighter 6 had the highest active player count on Steam at 65,873 at the time of writing at launch, this is much higher than the number of active players Street Fighter 5 at launch which currently has over 69,635 an active player.
In fact, as BenjiSales, a specialist in market analysis and data collection, pointed out on Twitter, the launch of Street Fighter 6 for PC has also eclipsed most other fighting games in recent years, with the number of active players nearly double that of Mortal Kombat 11.
The game is currently seeing more players on Steam than any fighting game from the Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat or Tekken series to date and of course, both Mortal Kombat 1 and Tekken 8 are also gearing up for launch in the near future, so it’s interesting to see how it performs. Both games at the time of release.
Prior to its launch, Capcom said that it expects to sell more than 10 million copies of Street Fighter VI and based on current performance, we expect that this goal will not be difficult at all.
