Pedro Pascal and Ethan Hawke get even more intimate in the new trailer for Strange Way Of Life.
In the upcoming drama, The Last Of Us star, 48, and Dead Poets Society actor, 52, plays a cowboy and sheriff investigating a murder mystery in the Wild West.
The duo reunites after more than two decades and navigate their complex romance amid action-packed scenes.
The short film – written and directed by Spanish director Pedro Almodovar – will premiere next month at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival.
Strange Way Of Life was revealed to be Almodóvar’s 2005 film Brokeback Mountain — a project he was previously offered to direct and later turned down — and was greenlit this past June.

Pascal plays a cowboy named Silva who travels across the desert to Bitter Creek to rendezvous with Sheriff Jake, played by Hook.
According to the brief, the pair have not seen each other in the 25 years since they last worked together as hired gunmen.
They have an emotional and “huge” reunion, but the purpose of the homecoming isn’t so innocent.
The official summary read: “Silva visits him under the pretense of reuniting with his friend from his youth, and indeed they are celebrating their meeting.”
However, “the next morning, Sheriff Jake tells him the reason for his trip was not to go down memory lane of their old friendship.”
The sheriff had invited his old friend and lover to help him solve the murder of a woman in town.
At one point in the trailer, Silva yells at the sheriff, “You never loved me.” You have never loved anyone in your life! “
In response, Jake points a gun at Silva for some reason before saying, “Don’t say that.”

After premiering at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival next month, Strange Way Of Life will get a theatrical release in Spain on May 26.
After the festival and premiere in Spain, the soapy flick will drop in the UK and the US.
