A controversial Australian rock star will fight allegations he stole a Woolworths rotisserie chicken and an iced coffee from Sydney’s CBD, a court has been told.

Sticky Fingers frontman Dylan James Frost, 34, did not have to appear at Downing Center Local Court on Monday after pleading not guilty to a single charge of theft.

Police allege the rocker stole the $6.50 roast chicken and $2.65 Ice Break double espresso from Woolworths Metro in Haymarket shortly after 1pm on June 27.

Frost’s girlfriend, Elyssa Ford, 23, is alleged to have also stolen a Life Savers Raspberry Stix from the same Woolworths store at the same time.

The couple pleaded not guilty in August, with Ms Ford facing a single charge of theft of items under $2,000 and possession of a prohibited drug.

Representing Frost, attorney Robert Candelori asked that the matter move to a hearing in July 2025, when the rocker will defend the theft charge.

Frost is the lead vocalist and guitarist of Sydney indie rock band Sticky Fingers, who went on ‘hiatus’ for a period in 2016 after allegations against them were aired.

He was accused of racism, sexism, transphobia and aggressive behavior and, in an interview with Triple J Hack, responded to his past antics by stating that “boys will be boys.”

In a statement to Instagram at the time, the band said the comments were “in no way intended to show that we are not truly on the path to positive change.”

Frost will return to court next month.

Sticky Fingers has been no stranger to controversy, with Frost often making headlines for his behavior in the past.

The lead singer reportedly got into a physical altercation with the band’s bassist, Paddy Cornwall, in 2019, which resulted in Cornwall being sentenced to 18 months in prison.

In 2018, Frost was kicked out of a pub in Newtown, in Sydney’s inner west, after he allegedly verbally abused a transgender woman.

He was accused in 2016 of physically threatening indigenous singer Thelma Plum.

Frost has opened up about his struggles with mental health and alcoholism in the past.

He revealed to the media that he was diagnosed with bipolar schizophrenia in 2015.
