Stephen Mulhern was taken to hospital after collapsing while eating at a Pizza Express on Wednesday.
The TV presenter, 47, who is mourning the death of his father Christopher, reacted to an anesthetic he had received earlier that day while having a drink.
According the sunAn ambulance was called for Stephen after staff became concerned about him at around 8 p.m.
As a precaution, he was taken from Sunningdale, Berks, to nearby Frimley Park Hospital in Camberley, Surrey, after being checked by paramedics.
A source said: ‘Stephen has been having an incredibly difficult time lately. He is mourning the loss of his father, who he was so, so close to.
“He has also been battling several well-documented health issues, and on Wednesday morning he underwent a procedure that required local anesthesia.

“That night he went to a quiet dinner alone, had a few drinks and reacted incredibly badly. “He’s just a human being and his father’s death has hit him hard.
After paramedics helped Stephen, they put him in touch with his mother by phone to assure her that he was okay.
He is now at home resting and is mortified to have had such a public reaction to the anesthesia.
A spokesperson for Stephen told MailOnline: ‘Stephen has been through an incredibly difficult time over the last few weeks. His beloved father recently passed away, which affected him hard and, understandably, was very stressful.
‘Also, he had a procedure that took place yesterday (Wednesday). After the anesthesia they gave him, he had some drinks that made him feel sick and that was it.
Stephen has been receiving ongoing support from his team, ITV bosses and his long-time friend and colleague Holly Willoughby.
The Deal Or No Deal star was born in east London in 1977 to market trader parents Christopher and Maureen.
He started out as a magician before becoming one of Britain’s most popular television presenters.

A spokesperson said: ‘Stephen has been through some difficult times over the last few weeks. His beloved father recently passed away, which has affected him greatly and, understandably, been very stressful.
He has attributed his success to his parents: “I don’t want to sound maudlin, but they worked incredibly hard to raise me and my two brothers and my sister.”
Stephen began his career at CITV in 1998, working on the children’s television show Finger Tips with Fearne Cotton. He also enjoyed a stint as the solo presenter of the children’s show Tricky TV from 2005 to 2010 and co-hosted Holly & Stephen’s Saturday Showdown (originally called Ministry of Mayhem) with Holly Willoughby in the 2000s.
She made the jump to adult television in 2006 when she presented the ITV2 spin-off Dancing on Ice: Defrosted, while former co-presenters Holly and Phillip Schofield presented the main show.
He also worked alongside the couple when he presented The Hub, a short segment on This Morning.
Stephen landed another spin-off the following year, presenting the ITV2 spin-off Britain’s Got More Talent, while the main show was presented by Ant & Dec.
His first primetime presenting job came in 2010, when he fronted Magic Numbers on ITV and three years later landed the revived version of ITV game show Catchphrase.
Other notable shows directed by Stephen include ITV’s Big Star’s Little Star, Sunday Side Up, Get Your Act Together and ITV2 panel show Reality Bites.
She landed more work alongside Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly in 2016 when she took over Ashley Robert’s role as host of the Ant vs Dec segment on Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway.
Another segment he presented on the show, In For A Penny, got its own standalone show, with Stephen at the helm.
As well as working in television, Stephen presented Sunday Mornings on Heart Radio with Emma Willis for six years until 2018 and is a regular fill-in on Virgin Radio UK.
