Former White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham said Thursday that a group of former Trump administration officials plan to meet next week to coordinate efforts to wean her old boss from bringing “chaos and destruction” to the country.
About 15 former White House and other aides have been holding zoom sessions and conference calls to plan strategy, said Grisham, who also served as former first lady Melania Trump’s chief of staff.
“We’re going to talk about how we can do some things officially to try to stop it and also, you know, the extremism that’s been talked about and continues to divide our country,” she said. .
‘I think there were a few of us…they were sitting behind watching him continue to manipulate and spread this big lie and continue to harm our country and (we) started some off-the-record conversations,’ she said. I think it will be important for people in this country who still support him to hear from the people who have actually worked with him day in and day out, and worked with a lot of people in his inner circle. I hope people talk to someone like me or some of these other people who really believed in Trump and understand that you can still be proud of his policies. You can still be behind a lot of his “America First” policies, and I am, but it doesn’t have to be the same. Grisham added that it was not necessary for this man to have caused such chaos and destruction in the country.

The effort appears to be still in its infancy, and Grisham has yet to describe further how it might happen or what it will involve. She said the group numbered “about fifteen at the moment”.
