Stephanie Davis has shared the sweet meaning behind her baby’s name, after revealing on Wednesday that she had given birth to her second child.
The Hollyoaks star, 31, who already shares seven-year-old son Caben with ex Jeremy McConnell, welcomed a baby boy named Samuel with boyfriend Joe McKalory.
In the post announcing the birth of their son, Joe shared that he and Stephanie named their little one after their late uncle.
She wrote: ‘Welcome to the world my beautiful baby Samuel McKalroy.
‘Named after your uncle, the only one who will always weigh heavily in my heart. I really wish I had known and appreciated you as much as I did.
‘It has been a traumatic experience but you are finally here in our arms. I never thought I could love your mom more than I already do, but this is so special and unconditional love that I can’t explain in words.

‘I love you more than you will ever know.’
Stephanie responded to the post: ‘Sobbing reading this my heart I love you more than anything in this world. I couldn’t love you more. I am very happy to have you as the father of our children xxx, although you carried me, it was very difficult I love you more than you will ever know xxxxxxxx’.
It hasn’t been an easy pregnancy for Stephanie, who revealed in October that she had been rushed to hospital after feeling “really unwell” and having difficulty breathing.
She told her Instagram followers in a video: ‘I haven’t been feeling well. I’m short of breath and my joints are very swollen.’
Raising her hand to show the camera, she added: “I’ve turned a funny colour, they said it could be pregnancy arthritis, it’s killing me.”
“My ankles are swollen and I started to have a lot of shortness of breath, so the doctor sent me to the ER on Friday night. And I was thinking, I can’t sit up, it’s torture.”
Stephanie explained that she had been “on the verge of tears” but explained that doctors had given her nebulizers and she was doing much better.
She said: ‘They ended up giving me some nebulisers to help me breathe, so that helped. And right at the end, God knows what time in the morning, we just wanted to get home.

‘I was ready to go to bed, on the verge of tears after sitting in those chairs. I’m struggling a little again tonight, but I’m fine, I’m fine. I think I’ve been a little stressed.’
The mother-of-one added that she had decided to go to A&E out of concern for her unborn child, but admitted she was exhausted after the overnight emergency.
She said: ‘If I wasn’t pregnant I wouldn’t have gone because it’s just a nightmare, isn’t it, sitting there.
“But obviously because of the swollen hands, the swollen feet, the difficulty breathing, the pregnancy, she obviously just wanted to make sure the baby was okay.” So we put up with it.’
Stephanie ended her video by saying that she had bought chocolate and ice cream and was looking forward to “trying to have a nice weekend” and going for a walk to get some fresh air.
However, she admitted: ‘I’m very tired. It’s been a bit stressful, I’m going to take my time this week and relax.’
The actress revealed that she was expecting her second child last August.
Stephanie revealed her fertility journey has been a “rollercoaster” after suffering a devastating miscarriage in 2021.
She explained that she and Joe had been trying to conceive for two years and were even exploring IVF, before falling pregnant naturally.
Stephanie told him OK!: ‘I took the pregnancy test at my mother-in-law’s house. I couldn’t believe it. I took a million tests in the last two years and recorded them on video. The only time I didn’t, it was positive!’
She went on to recall how she and Joe, whom she met at a group therapy session in 2021, were left “sobbing” after a scan revealed they were expecting a baby.
She recalled: “Joe never cries, so when that started it made me angry. We were just sobbing for each other. Then the nurse who was in the room started crying too.’
He added that Caben is also prepared for the role of big brother and is already telling his mother how to sit for a while so as not to “squish the baby.”
Recalling telling him the news during a family vacation, she said: “It was adorable. We took a video and it’s so cute to see a seven-year-old boy process that he’s going to have a brother.
‘He points at me and says, “Is that why you have a lump on your belly?” “It was just beautiful, the three of us on the beach.”

For her pregnancy announcement, she shared a video with Joe sitting on the beach while Caben was handed a bag that had a t-shirt that said “big brother” inside and a photo of her scan.

Stephanie revealed in 2022 that she and Joe had suffered a miscarriage, three weeks into a previously unannounced pregnancy.

Stephanie also suffered another tragic miscarriage the previous year with her then partner Oliver Tasker (pictured together).
She later shared a video of the touching moment, in which she and Joe are seen sitting on the beach as Caben was handed a bag that had a T-shirt that said “big brother” inside and a photo of his scan.
The young man jumped up excitedly and threw sand into the air as he ran before approaching Stephanie to take a look at the scanned image.
Caben then asked: ‘How do you get a baby?’ causing the couple to laugh before adding: “That’s why you have a big bump.”
The actress then seemed thrilled as her little boy quickly leaned in and kissed her growing baby bump.

On Instagram with an emotional post, she explained that she woke up one morning and “no longer felt pregnant.”
She wrote at the time: “I didn’t want to post about this until I was ready, I don’t think I ever will be nor will anyone who goes through this, but here goes.”
‘So like my lovely followers, many of you asked me if I was pregnant a while ago when I wasn’t at the Southport attractions and you also noticed a lot of things, well you were right, we were having a baby! I was pregnant.
“We found out so soon that we felt like we were pregnant for a long time. If you remember I got off social media for a while it was because we had a miscarriage. I was almost 12 weeks pregnant (3 months).
‘I had nausea from the beginning (a very, very bad illness, lol, I was so nauseous and vomiting) and crazy hormones, so I felt like I had spent a lot of time with our baby.
“I started having really bad headaches one night and the next morning I woke up and told Joe, my mom and Joe’s mom that I didn’t feel pregnant anymore, they know how I am and they thought I was worrying too much and that the baby would be fine since in our previous scans the baby’s heartbeat was beating wonderfully. But as a mother I suppose you know…’
Stephanie went on to explain that she and Joe were “heartbroken” after the miscarriage and said she thought everything was “fine” after passing the 12-week mark.
‘The anxiety, heartbreak and sadness we have gone through were horrendous. Joe and I were very excited and had already imagined and planned a life with our family of four.
‘I was already looking at what I was doing for my baby shower. You think that when you move forward, like I do, everything will be fine, so it was a big shock.
