Steph happily exchanges pins with other Team USA athletes in Paris Originally appeared in NBC Bay Area Sports
Steph Curry is just one of 592 athletes competing for Team USA during the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics.
And about 11,000 athletes in total are competing in the games this summer, according to the Paris Olympics website.
What does all this mean? Curry, like every other Olympian, doesn’t have time to get to know the thousands of other athletes competing in the games one-on-one. What the veteran Warriors superstar can and did do, however, is trade Olympic pins when he can.
Curry, as seen in the video shared on X (formerly known as Twitter) by Team USA, is naturally a networker.
The 10-time NBA All-Star collected pins like there was no tomorrow, literally.
In a later USA Basketball post, Curry posed for the camera and showed off his handful of newly acquired pins.
“The Big Pin Guy,” as the USA Basketball headline reads, fits the shooter well.
This summer marks Curry’s first Olympic Games, and He has enjoyed every second of it.
In addition to collecting pins, Curry has been networking with other athletes around the world and has bonded with his USA Basketball teammates. Note that Curry’s current teammates are his rivals at home.
The Olympics officially began on Friday and Curry and his American teammates will play their first match in Group C Sunday against Serbia.
Curry averaged 12.4 points and 2.4 rebounds in 21.8 minutes in Team USA’s five exhibition games.
Hopefully, Curry can focus on enjoying Paris without needing to replicate his Golden State numbers on the way to what It could be a gold medal race for the stars and stripes.
