The last thing the Warriors need less than two weeks before the start of the 2024-25 NBA regular season is a Stephen Curry injuries, but that’s what they’re dealing with right now, although there doesn’t seem to be any reason to worry.
Curry, 36, left the Warriors’ preseason game against the Sacramento Kings on Friday night at Chase Center after injuring his right index finger in the first half, and a team source told Monte Poole of NBC Sports Bay Area said the ailment “doesn’t seem serious.”

Curry was taken out of the game with 4:02 left in the first half and shortly after, we went to the Warriors locker room with Rick Celebrini, the team’s director of sports medicine and performance.
When the second half began, Curry was not part of the starting lineup and was not on the bench.
According to the Warriors, Curry was in the weight room working out during the second half of the game.
Curry finished with six points on 2-of-7 shooting from the field and 1-of-4 from 3-point range in 16 minutes of action on Friday.
Coach Steve Kerr told reporters after the Warriors’ 109-106 victory that the plan was for Curry to play more minutes.
“Tonight he was going to play into the third quarter for the first time, but when he hurt his finger, it didn’t make sense,” Kerr said.
Kerr, like all Warriors fans, holds his breath when Curry suffers any type of injury.
“Always, always,” Kerr told reporters. “Steph is Steph. They assured me at halftime that he was fine. The X-rays were negative. There was nothing too worrying. But you always get nervous when he gets hurt.”
The Warriors have three more preseason games before opening the regular season on the road against the Portland Trail Blazers on October 23.
