Stephen Curry’s wife Ayesha Curry was left in tears after an encounter with French police involving their newborn baby.
After Curry and Team USA defeated host France in the men’s basketball final, a Hollywood Fix video surfaced online showing Ayesha wiping away tears as her mother-in-law, Sonya, had a tense exchange with Paris police.
The cause of the incident is unclear, but Sonya is heard screaming that someone touched baby Caius Chai, the couple’s fourth child, who was born prematurely in May. Caius is seen being held by Ayesha throughout the ordeal.
Curry’s Golden State Warriors teammate Draymond Green is also heard saying someone hit the baby’s head.
Part of the problem appears to be that the Currys and Green were prevented from walking back to their car.

“Look, they won’t let us go back to where we came from,” Sonya said in the video. “They won’t let the driver come here and they won’t let us go back there.”
At one point, a man begins translating for police and offers an apology: “I’m sorry about the baby.”
Curry, 36, did not appear in the footage, but Green certainly made his presence felt in Curry’s absence.
—So even after hitting the baby in the head, there’s nothing they can do to get him out of here? —Green asked.
At one point, an angry Sonya can be heard yelling at the others off-camera: “What? Stop saying my name! You should be helping us with the baby!”
Later, through tears, Sonya simply tells the officers, “Just let us get to our car.”
Although Ayesha is clearly crying, she remains silent throughout the confrontation.
The couple has not responded publicly to the incident.
Curry’s other son, Canon, also appears in the images wrapped in an American flag alongside his mother.

Steph and Ayesha announced the birth of Caius at the end of May.
“Our sweet baby boy decided to arrive early!” the four-time NBA champion wrote on Instagram alongside a photo of the newborn’s hand. “He’s doing great and we’re finally settling in at home as a family of 6! We’re so thankful!”
It’s unclear when Caius was born, but the couple’s first three children were born in July, right in the middle of the NBA offseason. Their eldest daughter, Riley Elizabeth, was born in July 2012, while their daughter Ryan was born three years later, followed by their first son, Canon, in 2018.
Stephen Curry, the son of former NBA guard Dell and brother of Charlotte Hornets reserve Seth, is entering his 16th season and is already the most prolific three-point shooter in league history. In addition to his four NBA titles, Curry also boasts an NBA Finals MVP award, 10 All-Star nominations and two MVP honors.
Curry met Ayesha as a teenager at church in her native Charlotte, where her father was playing at the time. The two eventually married in July 2011.
The elder Curry and his longtime wife, Sonya, have since divorced.
