Veteran Australian actor Stephen Curry has revealed what it was like working with Hollywood star Ben Feldman on the set of the new Stan Original series Population 11.

The Australian comedy-thriller show, which premiered on Thursday, follows American Andy Pruden (Feldman) who travels to a rural town to visit his father, whom he barely knows.

Andy encounters the town’s 11 quirky residents, including Noel Pincus (Curry), a local who dreams of starting his own micronation.

The series was filmed in the small, isolated town of Derby in Western Australia, and the cast shared the same hotel – meaning they spent plenty of time together when they weren’t filming.

Speaking to Daily Mail Australia on Wednesday, Stephen admitted he subjected Ben, the actors’ only American star, to a hazing ritual during their time in the outback.

‘Yanks are fun to wind up. At one point we made him think his entire scalp was going to be removed,’ he mused.

“There’s nothing like an American actor coming in with a whole bunch of Aussie bogans like us who pretty much spent the whole time making him feel like he was going to die,” he laughed.

‘He’s a very good sport and he always gave back as good as he got, so we never felt guilty.’

Stephen had only positive words to say about working with Ben, who rose to fame in popular Hollywood shows Mad Men and Superstore.

“There’s kind of a sense that very successful people in the states who are in our industry are a little bit precious. And a little bit entitled — or very entitled,” he explained.

‘Ben broke that mold immediately. He’s a pro. He’s such a nice guy, he’s such a hard worker, he added.

'(Ben) asked the right questions. He knows exactly what he's doing, and even when he doesn't know what he's doing, he finds a way to figure it out. And it's not always the way you think it would happen,' she said

“It’s very interesting to see someone who has come through the Hollywood factory – in the best possible way – but come out the other end and be normal and be able to figure things out and not make you feel you stupid for asking questions,” she added.
