Stephen Curry recovered with three birdies to launch a one-over 71 on Thursday in the first round of the Ellie Mae Classic on the Web.com Tour.
Making his second appearance in the $ 600,000 (£ 467,000) event at TPC Stonebrae, the Golden State Warriors star recovered from a bogey on the second par three hole with a long birdie putt on par 5.
He added birdies in par four, the seventh and eighth, hit the flagpole in the eighth and closed with a pair in the ninth.
