Lauren Boebert appeared in a Colorado court on Monday asking to uphold her restraining order against her ex-husband Jayson.

Lauren Boebert appeared in a Colorado court to plead with a judge to keep her restraining order against her ex-husband Jayson in place, saying she fears for her children.

A judge asked the Republican congresswoman if she wanted to continue with the restraining order against Jayson, who was absent from the hearing, or drop the matter on Monday. Jayson has not yet received the order and was not in court for the hearing, creating the need to continue the proceedings.

Boebert said she knows her four children miss their father, but said, “I’m afraid his anger toward me will be taken out on (her children).”

The judge allowed the congresswoman to continue with the restraining order, which includes protections for her children, and the judge said the court could notify Jayson at her court appearance scheduled for next week.

The representative received a temporary restraining order against Jayson last month after she accused him of threatening to harm her and break into her home.

Lauren, 37, and Jayson, 43, married in 2005 and split in 2023, but the couple still made headlines during what appears to be a difficult split.

In January, the 43-year-old man was arrested and charged just days after the couple was involved in a domestic violence incident at a Colorado restaurant. He allegedly assaulted the couple’s oldest son, Tyler, during an altercation over the laundry room at his home in Silt, Colorado, an arrest warrant revealed.

Jayson was charged with misdemeanor battery, disorderly conduct, obstructing a police officer and pointing a firearm. He was released on $2,500 bail, according to court records.

In her request for a restraining order, Boebert mentioned a Jan. 6 argument at a restaurant where he claimed she had hit him, a claim she later retracted and which police ultimately said was unfounded.

Jayson did not cooperate when police responded to the restaurant, leading to charges of disorderly conduct, third-degree criminal trespass and obstructing a peace officer, according to court documents.

Jayson said he only recently found out about the restraining order and told The Associated Press that he was the “victim” of the incident.

“I would never hurt Lauren, I just want to move on and be at peace,” he told the outlet in a text message.

He also accused his ex-wife of using the restraining order to “justify” his move to a new congressional district.

The congresswoman announced earlier this year that she plans to run for outgoing Rep. Ken Buck’s seat in 2024.

Boebert also cited a fight between her ex-husband and their 18-year-old son Tyler on January 9.

When his son called authorities, Jayson allegedly grabbed a rifle and left, according to court documents.

He was charged with harassment, prohibited use of a weapon and third-degree assault, court documents show.

Lauren Boebert was not present during that altercation.

Tyler was arrested on nearly two dozen different charges in connection with a series of vehicle burglaries and property theft in Colorado’s Republican district last week.

The 18-year-old faces charges including four counts of criminal possession of a financial device, three counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor and three counts of theft under $300.

The other charges range from four felony counts of criminal possession of an identification, one felony count of conspiracy to commit a felony and more than 15 different misdemeanors and lesser charges. One of the alleged victims was said to be just three years old.

Speaking exclusively to DailyMail.com, Jayson gave a raw and heartfelt response to the news of his son’s arrest.

He acknowledged that, at times, he may have failed as a father but said he is committed to always improving. He expressed his “unwavering” belief in all of his children and shared his faith in Tyler’s future.

He said: “I know my son is a good-hearted boy and he still has his whole life ahead of him.”

Rep. Boebert, in a statement to DailyMail.com, said her son should face the consequences, but she ultimately loves and supports him.

“I love my son Tyler, who has gone through very difficult public challenges for a young man and the issue of attention that he did not ask for,” she said.
