A Canadian steelworker has gone viral after confronting Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and telling him to his face exactly what he thinks of him.
Video footage obtained by CTV News captured the awkward moment Trudeau unsuccessfully tried to talk the Algoma steelworker down during a tense exchange in Sault Ste. Marie on Friday.
“The 25 per cent tariffs that we just put in place will help you… that will allow you to keep your jobs,” Trudeau said. “I’m going to invest in you and your jobs.”
“What about the 40 percent of taxes I pay and I don’t have a doctor?” said the steelworker, explaining that he also pays for his own dental insurance.
The worker was seen on camera refusing to shake the Prime Minister’s hand before telling him what he thought.

A video captured the awkward moment Trudeau unsuccessfully tried to talk the Algoma steelworker down during a tense exchange in Sault Ste. Marie on Friday.
The encounter occurred during a carefully choreographed photo shoot by Trudeau at Algoma Steel in Sault Ste. Marie, where the prime minister was handing out doughnuts.
But the hard-nosed worker criticised Trudeau, saying he is struggling to make ends meet and support his wife and children, despite having a full-time job.
Joking with Trudeau, the steelworker went on to say, “I think you’ll only be here for one more year, we won’t see you around here again in a year.”
“That’s what elections are for,” Trudeau replied. “I hope everyone exercises their right to vote.”
“We are going to invest in you and in your jobs,” he added.
The steelworker replied: “I don’t believe you for a second.”

The exchange went viral and millions of Canadians applauded the worker for speaking out to the Prime Minister.
“This guy has no fear,” one user wrote on X. “He looked him straight in the eye and told him he was a liar and he wasn’t going to be around much longer. This is exactly what we need right now. Working class men standing up to these tyrants and not cowering.”
“This is like when your manager brings you pizza to thank you for coming on the weekend, except with donuts and a corrupt politician,” another commented.
“This guy destroyed Trudeau in less than a minute… imagine if Canada had media,” wrote a third user.
