Pittsburgh Steelers running back Najee Harris overindulged in Thanksgiving festivities

Pittsburgh Steelers star running back Najee Harris may have enjoyed Thanksgiving too much, leading him to experience some stomach problems.

Harris had a good performance against the division rival Cincinnati Bengals, but briefly struggled in the game.

At one point, Harris had to sit out the game, but was eventually able to return.

When asked what happened, Harris said (via ESPN’s Brooke Pryor) that he enjoyed the vacation with teammate Pat Freiermuth and his girlfriend, Jill, who made a “great banana sandwich.”

Harris admitted that he ate too much, which caused his problem. But he said that after eating some oranges he felt much better.

That worked out well for Steelers fans, who were treated to a strong performance from the fourth-year running back out of Alabama.

Harris rushed for 16 carries for 75 yards and a touchdown in a 44-38 victory Sunday afternoon.

Not only that, but Harris also caught six passes for 54 yards to increase his stat line for the day.

But the real star of the show was Steelers quarterback Russell Wilson, who completed 29 of 38 passes for 414 yards, three touchdowns and one interception.

Meanwhile, Cincinnati was led by quarterback Joe Burrow, who completed 28 of 38 passes for 309 yards, three touchdowns and one interception.

Pittsburgh (9-3) is now alone atop the hotly contested AFC North and third in the AFC overall.

They will look to make it double-digit wins on the season when they host the rival Cleveland Browns on Sunday.
