An Australian fashion label is preparing to release a form-fitting maxi dress that looks almost identical to Kim Kardashian’s Skims slip dress, but at a more affordable price.
STAX will launch its latest collection of fitness and fashion apparel online to the public on Friday at 9:00 a.m. AEST — or Thursday night for those who signed up for their VIP program – from crop tops, mini skirts, T-shirts and bodysuits to the favorite products.
But the Oasis dress ($89.95), which will come in five colors, has caught the attention of fans of the brand because it bears a striking resemblance to a sold-out Skims item.
It is very similar to the popular Skims’Soft Lounge Long Slip Dress‘ ($144), which is currently sold from its smaller sizes in onyx, heather gray, marble and oxide colors.

STAX will also release a midi dress version of the product for $79.95.

“The Oasis and Springs Midi Dress takes the brand in a new direction, away from the realm of activewear. The concept was eight months in the making, inspired by neutrals, earth tones and the simplicity of life.
“We know our community will appreciate and appreciate the steps we’ve taken to create these minimalist and effortlessly stylish pieces that stay true to our nature of being diverse and always inclusive.
Both pieces feature the double-lined Rayon fabric (made famous by our AW tees), spaghetti straps, straight neckline and a bodycon fit design. In five neutral yet versatile colorways, we predict they will become bestsellers.’

A number of fans who attended the store’s preview show on Monday highlighted the dress as their favorite of the collection.
“RIP my bank account,” a woman wrote under STAX photos on Instagram.
“This is the best collection yet,” said another.
Don Robertson worked as a gym receptionist in 2012 selling the ‘Muscle Stax’ protein bars and products – but when the sports club went bankrupt, he lost ‘everything’.
“We couldn’t go to the gym anymore and the shares were confiscated, leaving me $80,000 in debt,” he previously told the Daily Mail Australia.
Despite the financial difficulties, STAX launched in 2015 with Don and his partner Matilda and has $30 million in revenue in FY 2021 alone.
Since then, the company has gained a lot of ground by garnering the attention of celebrities, including actress Jennifer Lopez, singer Rita Ora, and singer Lizzo.
