State of Origin viewers label the pre-show entertainment a ‘snore fest’ as New Zealand pop band Six60 take the stage with ‘random’ haka performers: ‘I’m Kiwi like but fuck this mess!’
State of Origin fans criticized the organizers for choosing New Zealand band Six60 as the pre-game entertainment for the third game on Wednesday night.
The group took the stage at Sydney’s Olympic Park to sing their hit with a haka performance for a packed crowd.
But many fans were left confused by the pre-show entertainment and questioned why an Australian band wasn’t the opening act.

‘Some strange occurrences before the game on Origin. Why the kiwis on stage? Get the band, but this has nothing to do with Nz. #StateofOrigin’ another commented.

A third person said: ‘Why do we have a pre-game NZ Haka ceremony before the origin? #Origin23 #StateOfOrigin.’
“Just wondering why they’re playing NSW and QLD and we have a New Zealand pop group like #StateofOrigin entertainment,” said another.
One asked: ‘Why are fans bombarded with Mauri music and artists when it comes to a game between QLD, Australia and NSW, Australia? This would be more appropriate for an AUS vs NZ game, do you think?’
‘#StateofOrigin I’m seeing a Haka instead of a Welcome to Country. New South Wales confused about who they’re playing? I love the haka but this was very random,” said another.

Many fans were left confused by the entertainment and questioned why an Australian band was not the opening act.
Meanwhile, other fans wondered if the performance was a precursor to Origin one day coming to New Zealand.
‘Is this like a ceremony for next year’s Origin in Auckland?’ wrote one viewer.
“Does anyone else think the NRL is trying to tell us that they’re going to move an Origin match to New Zealand?” He said one more, before adding: After this performance, I’m not surprised.
‘Is this NRL trying to get past the fact that they’re selling #StateOfOrigin to go to New Zealand? What a snoring festival! tweeted another.
