Blues captain Jake Trbojevic has become a meme on social media after his reaction to a ‘hipster’ version of the national anthem.
Ahead of the first State of Origin game of 2024, Australian Idol winner Dylan Wright delivered a stripped-down interpretation of the Advance Australia Show to a sold-out crowd at Sydney’s Accor Stadium.
As the camera panned between the New South Wales and Queensland teams, Trbojevic, 30, appeared unimpressed with Wright’s rendition of the anthem written by Scottish-born Australian composer Peter Dodds.
His expression soon became a meme on social media, with viewers posting a screenshot of the moment of broadcast along with what they thought Jake was thinking.
