Ariel Winter broke down in tears after former NFL star Marshawn Lynch questioned her ability to be an unbiased base commander on Monday’s episode of Stars On Mars.
The 25-year-old Modern Family star previously clashed with disgraced cyclist Lance Armstrong, 51, after he openly shared his thoughts on transgender athletes in sports.
When the group had to decide who would be the new base commander, Marshawn, aka Beast Mode, nominated Lance and 41-year-old Porsha Williams Guobadia agreed.
Olympic figure skater Adam Rippon, 33, suggested Ariel instead, saying she would be great.
“That’s the problem,” said Marshawn, 37. “However, a lot of people don’t feel that kind of shit.”

‘Lance and I have a problem, but that’s it,’ said Ariel. It’s just between us.
“Well, if that’s the case and it’s a problem, then neither of us should be the base commander because as long as we’re there and if they have problems, that’s not just good for the team,” Marshawn said.
“I was incredibly shocked,” Ariel said in a confessional. ‘He was incredibly hurt. He was incredibly embarrassed.
The group eventually voted in Ariel as the new base commander and Marshawn expressed his frustration.
“Of course not,” Marshawn said. ‘Did we forget that Lance and Ariel have a problem with each other?’
Ariel sensed that Marshawn was questioning her integrity.
I’ve waited all this time to be a base commander! protested Ariel, who mistook Lance for Neil Armstrong when they first met.
“As long as I’m not a part of this, I’m going to sit and watch with my popcorn,” Mars newcomer Ashley Iaconetti, 35, said in a confessional. ‘Go ahead.’

Private conversation: Marshawn told Ariel that she was a “powerful young woman” but also questioned her ability to remain even-handed about Lance Armstrong after they previously clashed.

Incredibly hurt: “I was incredibly shocked,” Ariel said in a confessional. ‘He was incredibly hurt. He was incredibly embarrassed’
Ariel left upset that Marshawn questioned her.
Lance announced that he did not want to cause any drama and planned to automatically select himself to leave.
“That’s not even fair to the team,” Porsha said. ‘No one gives up. I’m tired of people giving up because it really makes the experience not fun.’
‘I’m not going to live in this Habit another day with certain people,’ said Lance.
“We disagree on a human rights issue, that’s all,” Ariel privately told Marshawn about Lance. ‘So I don’t understand how that works here. Several people disagree with Lance.
Ariel told him that she only cared that the mission was successful, not that Lance failed. Ariel went to her capsule, drew the curtain, and began to sob.
Boston Celtics star Paul Pierce, 45, said he didn’t like how Lance and Ariel handled it and Porsha said she was upset that Lance said he wanted to resign.
The episode titled ‘Leaks in the Hab’ opened with everyone excited that the new ‘celebrity astronauts’ brought with them a supply of food including plenty of wine as they joined them in a habitat located in the Coober Pedy desert in the interior of Australia.

“I rosé all day,” said Tinashe, 30, as she grabbed a bottle of wine.
Former Conan O’Brien assistant Andy Richter, 56, said in confessional that new people were trying to make friends with those who had already joined.
Ashley complimented Porsha on her butt. Porsha said that she has been exercising every day on Mars.
“I don’t think they realize he’s going to go crazy soon,” Porsha said in a confessional.
Andy talked to Lance about how things were going. Lance said things were fine until he got into a controversial topic that he was passionate about.
‘Trans in sport,’ Lance said.
‘Oh, did it get hot?’ Andy asked.

‘Shit,’ Lance said. I mean he was about to come to blows. It was terrible.’
The emergency sirens went off. Porsha told Andy that he liked her stockings and she called him thic.
“Actually, I’m on a Dojo Cat song,” Andy said. “His name is **** and there’s a rhyme that goes thicker than Andy Richter.”
On the 10th day of the mission, Ariel summoned everyone for a meeting. Ella Ariel said that she had tried to be as fair and sincere as possible and that she would not change that if she had an argument with someone. Ariel said that she would be the commander of the base.
“If Marshawn doesn’t like it, I don’t care at all,” Ariel said in a confessional.
Paul said he thought Ariel was assertive and aggressive. Lance then told everyone that he changed his mind and decided not to quit.
Suddenly, the alarm went off and the AI announced that there was a meteor shower and the Hab had been breached. Mission commander and Star Trek legend William Shatner, 92, called and said the Hab had been punctured and they would have to work together to plug the small holes and stop the depletion of their oxygen.
Ariel chose 30-year-old Tinashe as her mission specialist. The group worked together outside to use their bodies to plug the holes. They had to keep their fingers in the holes for two hours. Cat and Adam worked on creating molds to fit into the holes.

Mission Specialist: Ariel chose 30-year-old Tinashe as her mission specialist.
“It was definitely harder than it sounds,” Paul said in a confessional.
Adam and Cat ran and filled the plugs with the solution they made and then had to run to make more molds. Ariel decided to ask them questions to keep them entertained. She asked them the stupidest thing they’d ever heard about themselves.
“Those celebrities are worth, they like what they’re worth,” Andy said. Mine says $10 million. And that is not true. If I had $10 million, I wouldn’t have my face in a hole.’
Lance didn’t like that Ariel wouldn’t stop talking and Paul said that the mission was difficult for him. Andy said his hands were getting numb. They succeeded in plugging the holes in time. Ariel told everyone to go back to the airlock. Lance was confident that she did well on the mission.
Shatner radioed in and told Ariel that she had a decision to make about who would be extracted. Tinashe said that she would choose Ronda to go home and also said that Lance would be the last person she would save.
“I can’t stand Lance, but it would be very hard for me to justify sending Lance home if it wasn’t a personal decision,” Ariel said in a confessional.
Ultimately, Ariel decided to save Lance, saying that it was mission critical.
“She did her job, she did it right, so she got away,” Ariel said.
Paul, Ashley and UFC fighter Ronda Rousey, 36, made the bottom three. The group voted that Ashley was not mission critical and she was eliminated.
“I’m disappointed that they took me out so soon,” Ashley said.

Cat then prepared a meal for the group. Ariel said that Lance was being rude to her ever since he got back.
“She’s the dumbest person I’ve ever met,” Adam said. He’s a baby.
“It’s really fucking awkward,” Ariel said.
Stars On Mars will return next Monday on Fox.
