The internet has been sent into a frenzy amid widespread speculation that Starbucks is willing to charge customers extra for ordering drinks “without water, ice or light ice.”
The rumor specifically relates to the company’s energizing beverage that will reportedly fall victim to shipping to all locations across the US starting May 9th.
It caused an uproar on social media with customers angry at the idea of increased costs.
Starbucks declined to comment on the rumored changes when contacted by FEMAIL.

The rumor specifically relates to the company’s revitalizing beverage (pictured) which will reportedly fall victim to shipping to all locations across the US starting May 9th.
Rayeh, a TikTok user who has more than 140,000 followers on the video-sharing platform, was among the first to claim that a price hike was imminent.
In her clip, which has now been viewed more than 1.3 million times, Starbucks fans talk to the camera and say, “Guys, Starbucks is giving us another price increase just in time for summer.”
This increase applies to the summer launch starting May 9th. This will affect all of you who drink refreshments.
With this change, if you say no water, you will be charged an extra dollar for adding more base.
“Plus, if you say no ice or light ice, you also get charged that dollar because they have to add more base to make up for the space loss.”
The content creator said it’s unclear whether the same rules would apply to coffee and tea.
And the allegations did not go down well with customers who flooded in comments to express their frustration.
“A multi-billion dollar company that’s still greedy,” one user wrote.

Another joked, “Can they take the $1 off because I always order extra ice?” Same logic, they’re using a lower base now.
A third simply said, “I refuse to go to Starbucks anymore.”
It appears that Raya’s remarks were backed up by the now viral Reddit post, uploaded by Kevin7309, which received thousands of interactions.
He shared a photo of the sign that looked like it was on display at a Starbucks store that read: “Important news, please read on.
“Starting May 9, Starbucks will begin increasing fees for no water, no ice, and light ice in Starbucks Refresher drinks at all of its locations.”
She concluded: “Thank you for reading!”

Banner’s remarks were apparently backed up by a viral Reddit post, uploaded by Kevin7309, which received thousands of reactions.
As rumors continue to circulate, baristas have taken to social media to share their own concerns.
Many argued that they would be in the forefront of angry customers if the changes were implemented.
TikTok user Nicole, who works at a Starbucks in Travis County, Texas, was among those who shared their thoughts.
In her video, which has so far been viewed more than 546,000 times, she wrote: “How Emma cries once Starbucks starts charging for no ice in drinks and customers will bully me.”
Starbucks declined to comment when contacted by FEMAIL.
