For the first time since Starbucks released its iconic Pumpkin Spice Latte in 2003, the coffee chain adds a new pumpkin drink to the menu – and it's on ice.
Starbucks announced today that when its long-awaited Pumpkin Spice Latte makes its annual debut on August 27, a new Pumpkin Spice Cold Brew will be added.
The cool foam-covered drink offers an alternative for customers who are not yet ready to go into the fall last summer.

The new fall drink combines Starbucks & # 39; Cold Brew with vanilla and is then finished with an & # 39; pumpkin cream cold foam & pumpkin herbs topping – giving customers who prefer cold coffee a new option.
The introduction of the new menu item seems to be in response to criticism that Starbucks is debuting the PSL earlier and earlier, with the autumn-friendly drink being turned off when the summer has a few weeks left and the temperatures are still quite high.
Of course, customers also see the return of the iconic PSL on Tuesday, with Starbucks celebrating its 16th anniversary of the fall drink.
The PSL – of which Starbucks has revealed that it has sold more than 424 million cups since its launch in 2003 – combines real pumpkin with a blend of fall spices that contain cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg.
It is then mixed with espresso and steamed milk to warm everyone up on a cool fall day.
Starbucks continues to respond to the pumpkin-spice trend by also releasing a series of pastries that people can buy that fit well with the PSL.
Although the PSL release date of August 27 is the earliest so far, it is actually later than rival Dunkin & # 39; embraces fall.
Dunkin & # 39; released the Cinnamon Sugar Pumpkin latte on August 21 – and it has asked some fans why both companies are pushing so early in the fall.
Surprise! The release of Pumpkin Spice Latte takes place earlier and earlier each year, with 2018 as the earliest date so far – until this year

Another person had another recommendation about the date and wrote: & MUCH too early. It should start on October 1. Certainly after the day of work. & # 39;
The drink often appears on Starbucks menu around Labor Day and was launched on August 28 last year.
One person joked that continuing the PSL season will only inspire other restaurants to push their own signature items.
& # 39; The following is the Shamrock Shake from McDs in January & # 39 ;, wrote a Twitter user, referring to the infamous Saint Patrick & # 39; s Day drink from McDonald & # 39; s.

The arrival of the PSL season early also inspired some people to joke about how it relates to climate change.
& # 39; If climate change is not real, why is the PSL season coming earlier each year & # 39 ;, a person wrote hilariously.
This encouraged another Twitter user to use the & # 39; Basic Science & # 39; behind the reasoning PSL season that keeps getting higher.
Although there were specific consumers who were not satisfied with the early release date, other fans were excited to buy the drink this month.
& # 39; I already changed my Bitmoji outfit before fall, give me the pumpkin spiced lattes, & # 39; wrote a consumer.
Another customer agreed, because the PSL season meant that the cold weather was (possibly) coming soon.
Weet You know, I really am not the girl to talk about fall and how excited I am for leggings and everything spiced with pumpkin. But with the heat index rising to 108 today, I can confidently say that I am more than ready for colder weather, & the woman wrote.
The release of the PSL officially this week, along with the new cold-brewed drink, allows customers to enjoy their favorite fall aromas, even if the weather stays warm in the coming weeks.
