Star Hairstylist Chris Appleton just made it easier to make his glass hair look like Shark Beauty’s new ambassador

Chris Appleton jumps right into his role as global ambassador for Shark Beauty with the unveiling of two hair care products.

The British-born, Los Angeles-based celebrity hairstylist — known for his super-sleek “glass hair” look seen on the likes of Kim Kardashian, Jennifer Lopez, and Dua Lipa — has been named Shark Beauty’s Head of Hair. The announcement coincides with the launch of the company’s SmoothStyle heated comb and hair straightener ($100) and SpeedStyle dryer and styler ($200) online and in select retailers today.

Both new hair tools are designed for all hair textures and types. The Shark SmoothStyle straightens and smoothes strands without frizz or heat damage and can be used on wet or dry hair. Designed to prevent hair from absorbing too much heat while increasing volume, it has three preset temperature settings and a smoothing comb option.

The lightweight SpeedStyle comes in bundles for straight/wavy or curly/curly hair and includes three attachments: the RapidGloss finisher and the QuickSmooth brush, and either the Turbo Concentrator (for the straight/wavy configuration) or the DefrizzFast Diffuser (for the curly set). Shark says the IQ SpeedStyler automatically adjusts settings to one of four heat or three airflow settings, and the RapidGloss cap “delivers a silky-smooth, natural-gloss finish with up to six times less frizz.” (Glass hair, here we come.)

They are also great for frequent travelers. The SpeedStyle weighs just 1.66 pounds, while the SmoothStyle brush weighs just over 1.5 pounds. They join Shark’s foray beyond the cleaning aisle and into the beauty department, adding to the company’s lineup (including the FlexStyle air styling and drying system) to compete with Dyson’s popular — and pricey — Airwrap hair styler.

Through the two-year agreement, Appleton will help people “celebrate their hair and build on (Shark Beauty’s) mission to democratize high-end hairstyling and bring the celebrity hairstyling experience to the masses,” according to a statement.

Appleton, who is also recently a brand ambassador for Color Wow hair care tied the knot of white lotus actor Lukas Gage at an intimate ceremony in Las Vegas officiated by Kardashian. Shania Twain concluded the marriage with a performance of “You’re Still the One”.
