Stanley Tucci has revealed a controversial opinion and that is that he does not believe that sweatpants should be worn in public.
The sophisticated actor, 63, will release a new book this month, called What I Ate in a Year (and Related Thoughts), which goes deeper into his daily meals and reflections.
He shared more about his opinion in an extensive new interview with The Wall Street Journal published on Monday, as the interviewer noted that he mentioned in the book that “adults dress too casually these days.”
The interviewer asked him what he least liked to see an adult wear in public, to which he responded with sweatpants and a graphic t-shirt, among others.
“A t-shirt emblazoned with some kind of strange saying or image,” Tucci told the outlet.

‘Shorts that don’t fit me well. Sports pants. Not just like, “Oh, I’ve been running and now I’m going to stop at the store,” he continued.
‘You haven’t been running. You just wear sweatpants because you don’t want to wear pants.

Tucci, who has published a variety of cookbooks and starred in his own show, Stanley Tucci: Searching for Italy, also revealed some of his favorite pieces to wear in the interview.
“I like shoes,” he told the WSJ.
‘I can’t stand being barefoot. “I love wearing a suit, jacket and a nice cardigan,” he added.
And it turns out there’s someone else who agrees with Tucci, and that’s TV writer Gary Janetti.
During an appearance in July at ABC NewsJanetti, who has gone viral for her funny memes about the royal family, revealed that she no longer likes the way people dress at the airport.
The interviewer asked him what he least liked to see an adult wear in public, to which he responded with sweatpants and a graphic t-shirt, among others.
“It seems like there are too many people at the airport on day five of the flu, like they’ve been in bed for a week,” Janetti said during the television appearance.
‘How comfortable do you have to be to take a three-hour flight?’ He continued, totally rejecting the idea of wearing sweatpants on the plane.
He said you could at least wear a button-down shirt or pants.
However, the Start Without Me author admitted there was one exception to his no-sweatpants rule: a red-eye flight.
“I feel like you could wear sweatpants if you’re going to sleep on the plane or something,” he said at the time.
