Stan Announces New Original Drama Prosper About A Family With ‘Unchecked Wealth’ Building An ‘Evangelical Megachurch’
Australian streaming platform Stan has commissioned a new original series called Prosper.
Stan works with Hollywood studio Lionsgate to create the series, which has been described as a “razor-sharp drama of faith, ambition and divided loyalties.”
Prosper is set in the innermost sanctuary of a family bound by unfathomable wealth and unchecked power as they build an evangelical megachurch determined to become world domination.

Developed with the support of Stan, Lionsgate, Screen NSW and Screen Australia, Prosper is written by lead creative and executive producer Matt Cameron (Jack Irish, Secret City), Liz Doran (Barons, Please Like Me), Louise Fox (Glitch, Broadchurch) and Belinda Chayko (Branden, Stateless).
The series is produced by Jason Stephens (Lambs of God, Upright) and Helen Bowden (The Secrets She Keeps) for Lingo Pictures and Andrew Walker (Deadloch, Rosehaven), with further casting and production announcements in the pipeline.
The cast has not yet been announced.
Nine Entertainment’s streaming service has undoubtedly reshaped the Australian television landscape, attracting more than 2.5 million subscribers.
Stan’s original content includes shows like The Tourist (with Jamie Dornan), Bump (with Claudia Karvan and Nathalie Morris), Wolf Like Me (with Isla Fisher), and RuPaul’s Drag Race Down Under.

The original films include Gold, starring Zac Efron, and Christmas on the Farm.

Prosper will be a prestige drama exploring the consequences of unbridled power and desire, with Lingo Pictures and the creative team developing both a brilliant and timely series.

Further Stan Original Series currently in development through Stan’s partnership with Lionsgate include drama series The Geography of Friendship, which is jointly developed and produced by Aquarius Films and Rose Byrne’s Dollhouse Pictures; and the outback comedy crime series Population: 11, which is being developed by Jungle Entertainment.

The Stan Original Series Prosper is produced by Lingo Pictures, with major production investment from Screen Australia with the help of the NSW Government through Screen NSW and the Made in NSW Fund.
Cailah Scobie and Amanda Duthie will executive produce for Stan. Lionsgate will manage international sales.
Prosper will begin production soon, with further announcements to follow.
It comes after Stan, which offers a wide variety of programming from live sports to movies and TV shows, grew its subscribers six percent to more than 2.5 million users.
The increase in numbers increased the company’s revenue by 22 percent.
The average number of subscribers to Stan’s new sports service, Stan Sport, rose more than 150 percent in the June quarter from last year.
