Kevin, who confirmed his divorce from Karen Hauer months earlier, commented on the production process: ‘I remember going to rehearsals in August, I got the wind you tried with Neil Jones.
“I was a big fan of you and your documentaries, for the last few of you I tweeted you and you would respond, well I don’t know if it was you or your team. I thought you would be great to talk to, I thought you would be so serious. ‘
Stacey insisted she thought they would be paired with other stars of the series, adding, ‘At some point, I imagine total speculation that you would have Lauren [Steadman] or Katie [Piper] and they would put me with AJ.
“I insisted on you for some reason. If I hadn’t been so boisterous, I wouldn’t have got you. I really wanted you. You are so nurturing and patient.

“They are concerned about the Scissorhands aspect – that children start looking at Scissorhands and then start playing with scissors. It’s a BBC concern. ‘
