As St. Patrick’s Day approached yesterday, beer drinkers around the world flocked to get a pint (or more) of Guinness.
The streets of London were abuzz with crowds last night with many revelers draped in Irish flags and dressed in green.
Leicester Square was at the center of the festivities, as many groups were seen heading to the famous Waxy O’Connor’s Irish pub chain, which is highly praised for its live music and six-story Soho venue.
The celebrations came as thousands of people from Newcastle to New York descended on the city for St. Patrick’s Day.
But we suspect drunken revelers may be feeling even greener this morning after their night of Irish fun in the heart of the capital.

Leeds and Newcastle are among the other UK cities that were photographed last night taking part in the St Patrick’s Day celebrations.
Meanwhile, the Prince and Princess of Wales enjoyed sips of the “black stuff” at the Irish Guards St Patrick’s Day Parade in Aldershot.
Kate attended the event for the first time in her capacity as a Colonel of the Irish Guards, following her action-packed day conducting training exercises in snowy conditions with them last week.
The couple marked the event on their Instagram account, writing: “It is a true honor to be a Colonel in the Irish Guards, whose enthusiasm, pride and dedication, plus boundless sense of humour, makes them so unique.”
‘From the outgoing Colonel to the incoming Colonel, we will continue to support and defend him in everything he does.’ Festivities were also held across the island of Ireland with massive crowds to mark March 17 in towns and cities.
Many more watched the 2023 Dublin Parade, featuring 4,200 performers, including marching bands, aerial acrobats and vibrant costumes, live on television.
Parade-goers turned up in leprechaun hats, green-dyed beards, and emerald scarves.
The parade was centered around the theme ‘ONE’ to ‘shine a light on all the good around us’ by protecting and embracing the world’s traditions, culture and heritage.

New York City also got in on the celebrations, hosting its annual parade that bills itself as the oldest and largest in the world.
The city’s famous Fifth Avenue was awash in green as crowds parked at the traditional event for the first time in two years as a result of the pandemic.
Others were seen bar-hopping in the area, with revelers making the most of the Irish holiday.
