A witness has claimed security did little to stop a shocking brawl in a western Sydney bank on Monday afternoon because the participants ‘were girls’.

Extraordinary footage shows a group of up to 15 people punching each other outside a St George Bank in the Bankstown Central Shopping Centre.

The fight is said to have lasted about 10 minutes, with witnesses claiming guards let it drag on until police arrived.

“Security just stood there, they couldn’t help because it was girls fighting, but they called the police,” a witness told Nine News.

It’s unclear what sparked the brawl, although witnesses have suggested there was a fight between teenage boys before their mothers got involved.

“She said don’t touch my son,” another witness told the network.
