One viewer shared: ‘Let’s think about this. Either he’s still a detective and went to try and save everyone or he could have been like the old man, a VIP, but he’s there to act like a participant.’

Others added: ‘So he came back to kill more people?’; ‘Gi-Hun returns to the games: first it was for survival, now it’s for revenge’; ‘Imagine coming back for revenge and dying halfway through the series’; ‘When a funny guy becomes serious, everything will be unforgettable’.

‘What do you think Gi-hun is going to do? Play again? Infiltrate and destroy the games?’; ‘I’m going to look for controversy. Gi-hun will take over the games as leader. He’ll replace the old man.’

Another theory: ‘Call it now Gi-hun actually goes to America to see his daughter, but ends up getting tangled up in the American Squid Games, perhaps?’
