AC Milan have completed the signing of Tottenham defender Emerson Royal for £15m, with the centre-back penning a four-year contract with the Italian giants.
The deal will also include an option for a further 12 months as Royal leaves the Premier League after a mixed spell in England’s top flight.
Emerson scored four goals in 101 appearances for Spurs after joining from Barcelona in 2021 for a reported fee of £25.8m.
“We have reached an agreement with AC Milan for the transfer of Emerson Royal,” read a statement on the Premier League club’s website.
“We wish Emerson all the best for the future.”

Much was expected of Royal when he joined from Barcelona three years ago, but he has struggled to find a consistent form under different coaches.
The Brazil international was booed at times by Tottenham fans during his time at the club, while the arrival of Micky van de Ven last year dropped him even further down the defensive pecking order.
Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou has deployed a starting centre-back partnership of Cristian Romero and Van de Ven that would also have restricted Royal’s playing time in the Premier League.
Meanwhile, Chelsea defender Caleb Wiley will spend the next season on loan at French Ligue 1 club Strasbourg.
The Blues signed the 19-year-old left-back from Atlanta United last month and, following his Olympic stint with the United States, he will join the club now managed by Liam Rosenior.

“We look forward to supporting his development throughout the season,” Chelsea said in a statement.
Wiley, who was born and raised in Atlanta, signed a six-year contract with Chelsea after joining for a fee of around £8.5million.
Ben Knight has left Manchester City to join Spanish club Real Murcia on a permanent deal.
The 22-year-old midfielder, who previously had loan spells at Crewe and Stockport, made his only competitive appearance for City in the 2021 Community Shield.
