Chris Packham has urged Taylor Swift to reconsider her “absurd” use of private jets.
The pop megastar, 34, sent a cease-and-desist letter to social media user Jack Sweeney after he spent months tracking the whereabouts of her private jet in the middle of her Eras world tour.
His lawyers later argued that the college youngster had done “nothing illegal” with his X account, but now BBC Springwatch star Chris, 63, has claimed Taylor “missed a trick” with the whole fiasco.
He said Mirror: ‘We know that private planes are the ones that provide the most fuel for aviation and the least efficient because they transport only one person.
And then he called her and she threatened to sue him. And I thought, ‘You really didn’t get the trick, Taylor.’
Chris, 63, claimed Taylor “missed a trick” with the whole fiasco and could have used the incident for her own benefit.

He added: “What you should have said is, ‘You’re right, times have moved on.’ I have to change my practice. I’m going to sell my private jets.’ And that would have been a very powerful thing for her to say to an audience.”
Chris also noted that because Taylor has “mostly a young audience” and such a prominent cultural figure, she should “lead” the way on such matters.
The Anti-Hero singer will headline Wembley Stadium in London on June 22, and on the same day, Chris will host a Walk for Nature rally in the capital.
The environmentalist wants Taylor to attend his event and publicly declare that he will stop using his private jet.
He said: “She should appear on my stage and she should say, ‘I’m going to stop flying on private jets.'” That would be the weekend for me. Let’s publish it.
Social media star Jack Sweeney, who also follows tech billionaire Elon Musk’s flights, previously claimed that Taylor’s use of his private jet emitted 83 times more CO2 than the average American.
He tweeted: ‘Swift’s two private jets flew 178,000 miles in 2023, equivalent to circling the Earth seven times, emitting 1,200 tonnes of CO2 in the process. “That’s 83 times the average American.”
Chris wants to meet Taylor when she arrives in London for her Eras tour and hopes he will accompany her to her Walk for Nature rally, which takes place on the same day.

The attorneys wrote the college student a cease and desist letter saying she would have “no choice but to pursue any and all legal remedies.”

The lawyers concluded: ‘Furthermore, the alarming tone of your letter is unfounded. Our client’s website only provides the location of private aircraft using publicly available information. That information does not pose any threat to Ms. Swift’s safety.
