A famous animal rights activist has detailed how she was subjected to two separate attacks within the space of an hour, claiming the perpetrators were trying to suppress the truth about “speciesism”.

Tash Peterson was filming her boyfriend Jack Higgs to raise awareness about animal cruelty outside a McDonald’s in Perth when a teenage girl threw a drink at her head.

Just an hour later, the couple were dining at vegan restaurant Lord of The Fries when another woman threw a drink at Ms Peterson, who claims she was then attacked by several people after she came out and confronted the women.

A distraught Mrs Peterson took to social media on Sunday to express her anger over the incidents.

“They are direct responses to my activism and my unapologetic being who I am: someone who refuses to remain silent about the exploitation and murder of non-human people,” he wrote.

‘Let’s be clear: these actions are not just attacks against me; They are attempts to suppress the truth about speciesism and the industries that profit from the enslavement of animals.

‘The question remains: Why are so many people so angry at those who simply defend the rights of non-human people?’

The pair filmed the first incident, where the teenager was caught throwing a McDonald’s drink at Ms Peterson from behind before fleeing down the street.

The drink soaked the back of her clothes and her hair.

‘What the fuck!’ Mrs. Peterson exclaimed in surprise.

“Completely soaked,” Mr. Higgs was heard saying off-camera.

“That’s the drink they threw at me,” Peterson said as he pointed to the broken drink and ice on the ground.

In a separate video, the couple recalled how they were dining at Lord of The Fries in Northbridge an hour later when a woman “barged in and shouted, ‘Are you Tash Peterson?'”

“(She) threw her drink at me,” an emotional Mrs. Peterson explained to her Facebook followers.

“Then I reacted and went out and then five people jumped on me and pulled my hair out.

“And Jack came to help me and got fucking punched.”

The activist filmed from the hospital where Higgs was undergoing tests because he was punched on the left side of the head.

When recounting the incident, the protester clarified that there were about three or four people who approached her to take her away from the woman once she was outside to retaliate.

“All I remember was looking at the ground because obviously I was in defense mode,” he said.

The couple explained that Mr. Higgs came out to take the woman away from Mrs. Peterson, who was the woman who started the fight by throwing the drink at him.

And that’s when Mr. Higgs got punched.

“Apparently it was his brother because he kept telling Jack ‘you hit my sister,'” Mrs. Peterson said.

‘Obviously Jack didn’t do that, he was just trying to get her off of me.

“There were a lot of drunk people and that’s probably why this happened.

Peterson said police arrived shortly after and said they “are investigating” both incidents.

The couple are also hoping to obtain CCTV of the second assault, which left Mr Higgs with blurred vision and a “Throbbing” headache.

“It could have been worse if I had gotten the center of the temple,” he said.

Mrs. Peterson, who is a supporter of her scantily clad protests, is no stranger to controversy.

Her antics have led WA police and policymakers to describe her as “Australia’s biggest pest”.

Peterson has received numerous fines for his semi-naked demonstrations and protests in designer stores, restaurants and supermarkets.

It has been a challenging few months for Ms Peterson after she was ordered to pay $280,000 to a vet she accused of “eating (his) own patients” three years ago.

Ms Peterson stormed Perth-based Bicton Veterinary Clinic in September 2021 to accuse its owner, Dr Kay McIntosh, of “enslaving” two pet birds.

In a judgment handed down by the High Court of Western Australia on November 25, Chief Justice Peter Quinlan ruled that the couple had used “provocative and inflammatory” language towards Dr McIntosh and her husband Andrew.

In August, Mrs. Peterson pleaded guilty to two counts of trespassing and disorderly conduct over two separate confrontations at the Fyre restaurant in the northern Perth suburb of Connolly last year.

Ms Peterson was banned from leaving Western Australia due to a six-month community order issued by a Joondalup Magistrates Court magistrate, and was also hit with thousands of dollars in fines.

Daily Mail Australia has contacted Ms Peterson for comment.
