A Texas man has been taken off a Spirit flight for wearing an “obscene” hoodie, as seen in a chaotic video posted online.

John Garcia Jr, who identified himself online, wore a black jersey with the words “FVCK HATE WORLD TOUR.”

The video shows the San Antonio father of four protesting to airline staff before being escorted off the plane.

Garcia was first confronted when he began placing his luggage in the overhead locker. A female flight attendant approached him to ask if he was in the right seat.

The passenger confirms that it was his seat, but a few minutes later the flight attendant returns and says something to him.

Garcia said she told him to take off his hoodie because of the “obscene language.”

“It totally surprised me,” Garcia told the newspaper San Antonio Express News. “Like, ‘Man, are you serious?’

The clothing brand, called Fvck What You Heard or FWUH, does not promote any specific political message.

It describes its mission as follows: “To make fashionable fun of pop culture, current events and other everyday B***-ISH!, while proudly showing a BIG fat middle finger to YOUR feelings!”

Garcia initially refused to take off the hoodie. The flight attendant responded by telling him she would report him to the captain.

A security guard and a male flight attendant then joined in and told Garcia to remove his hoodie or get off the flight.

Garcia demanded to know if the garment violated the airline’s rules, but the flight attendant told him he had to accept what they said.

He eventually left the plane and was rescheduled to return to San Antonio. Garcia said he wore the same hoodie on this flight without any problems.

The passenger said the chaos on the first flight occurred after a woman on the plane complained to a flight attendant about his attire.

Another passenger who filmed the disagreement labeled her a “Karen,” which he said called Garcia unfair.

“Some Karen on the plane from LA to San Antonio didn’t like this boys hoodie ‘FVCK HATE WORLD TOUR’,” he wrote on social media.

‘The flight attendants asked him to remove it and he did, but the Karen said she didn’t like his attitude and gave him a boot.

“What in this world comes to SMH, his shirt is literally anti-hate and he was hated. This man was so cold and flew first class.

“Please share so this man will hopefully get the video of them blatantly violating his freedom of speech! Then they put a flight attendant in his seat.”

Garcia has promised to take legal action against the airline, but it is unclear what his argument would be. “I just spoke to a lawyer and got something prepared,” he wrote.

Spirit Airlines has a ‘Contract of Carriage’ that sets out the dress code for passengers.

“Our contract of carriage, a document that all guests agree to when making a reservation with us, includes certain dress standards for all guests traveling with us,” the airline said.

The dense document outlines what is expected of passengers on their flights and who or what can be refused to fly.

It goes through the definitions of airline phrases, fare details and cancellation policies. This contract was last updated on August 14.

But the long and barely read contract contains a short section about passengers’ attire on board.

Part of the “Conduct/Condition” section states that a person “may not board the aircraft or may be required to depart” if they are “barefoot or inadequately clothed, or whose clothing is lewd, obscene or offensive in nature.” . ‘.

Spirit Airlines released a statement specifically about Garcia’s incident.

“We want all of our guests to feel welcome and have a great experience while traveling with us,” the airline said in a statement to the San Antonio Express-News.
