Spilt Milk festival has been cancelled, another blow to Australian music lovers

The Spilt Milk festival has been cancelled, another blow to Australian music lovers.

It is the latest in a series of festivals to be cancelled as the industry endures a difficult year.

The festival organizers broke the sad news on Instagram.

“Sorry pookies we couldn’t get you the spilt milk you deserve this year. So I’m going to dive in for a bit and will be back when I can make all your dreams come true. Miss you xx SPILLED MILK,” the statement read.

Last year, Spilt Milk was headlined by Post Malone and Dom Dolla.

It is a travelling festival with stops in Canberra, Gold Coast, Ballarat and Perth.

It is unclear why the festival was cancelled, however others have struggled to sell enough tickets.

Splendour in the Grass in northern New South Wales, the Sunshine Coast’s Caloundra Music Festival, Victoria’s Coastal Jam and Adelaide’s Vintage Vibes Festival have all been cancelled due to financial constraints.

The New South Wales parliament has launched an inquiry into the festival industry to understand the challenges faced by organisers.

More to come.
