Spike Lee told black men to stop drinking the Kool Aid and vote for “our sister” Kamala Harris in a bizarre TV interview last night.
The award-winning film director said on MSNBC that his brothers needed to “wake up” and not “go for the Okie Doke” in next month’s presidential election.
Lee was answering a question about what he would say to people who are skeptical of the Democratic nominee just 15 days before Americans go to the polls.
He said: “It’s sad, but true, some of my brothers have been drinking that ‘Kool-Aid’ and I just hope they recover in time for this election.”
“If they’re aware, if they’re aware, there’s nothing this other guy can do that’s going to put us, not just black people, but Americans, in a better position in the future.”

Lee continued: We have to wake up, you know, and not drink the Okie Doke. The fool can’t do that.
“We have to support our sister to be the first female president of the United States of America and the first sister.”
He also praised the work President Barrack Obama has been doing to encourage Black voters to support Harris.
Lee previously expressed support for the Democratic candidate, posting an emoji-filled photo of Harris in July.
She captioned the social media post: “ONCE AGAIN A SISTER COMES TO THE RESCUE.”
He is among several high-profile stars and celebrities who have endorsed her candidacy since President Joe Biden left office in the summer.
Barbra Streisand previously told the New York Times: ‘I am very grateful to President Biden and very excited to support Kamala Harris.
“She will work to restore women’s reproductive freedom and continue the gains started in the Biden-Harris administration.”
Actor Robert De Niro has also said that the most important thing for the United States is to “defeat Donald Trump at the polls.”

Donald Trump told WWE legend The Undertaker that he earned the respect of one of Hollywood and wrestling’s greatest after being shot.
He described Biden’s decision to step aside for Harris as an act of “selfless patriotism.”
However, it comes as Trump said he had won the support of one of Hollywood’s biggest stars after fearing “I never thought he liked me”.
Trump appeared on WWE legend The Undertaker’s podcast on Monday when he opened up about his rocky relationship with Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and how things suddenly changed.
“I never thought he would like me and I felt bad because I think he’s a fantastic guy,” Trump admitted.
Trump then explained that he received a surprise call from UFC promoter Dana White. White told him that The Rock was impressed by his defiant reaction after an assassination attempt in Pennsylvania and wanted to talk.
The praise comes amid very close polls in the race against Vice President Kamala Harris.
Johnson, who recently admitted he regretted backing President Biden instead of Trump in 2020, had left the door open in this election by staying silent.
