Geri Halliwell’s Spice Girls bandmates Mel C and Emma Bunton led tributes to the singer as she celebrated her birthday on Tuesday.
The singer is celebrating her 52nd birthday after a turbulent year in which her marriage to Christian Horner was in the spotlight.
Christian was accused of sending intimate text messages to a female employee who accused him of “coercive behaviour” but an internal investigation chaired by an unknown KC appointed by Red Bull cleared him. Christian strongly denied any wrongdoing.
Since the scandal, Geri and Christian appear to have put it behind them, having made several joint appearances on the Grand Prix circuit this year.
As Geri celebrates her birthday with family and friends, her former bandmates made sure to send her their well wishes on social media.

Suggesting they hadn’t made any plans to celebrate her day, Mel wrote: “Happy birthday Geri. Have a wonderful day. Hope we get a chance to celebrate together soon. Love you Ginge!”
Mel C, 50, shared a throwback to her days in the band to mark the day and sent a sweet message to Geri in the caption.

One of the snaps was taken at Victoria Beckham’s 50th birthday earlier this year, when the band reunited to celebrate her milestone.
She also posted another smiling selfie along with a playful image of them whispering during an appearance on Heart FM.
Thankfully there were no awkward gaffes in these posts after Geri herself was mercilessly mocked by fans for her mistake on Mel B’s birthday in May.

Her Instagram account shared a series of snaps of the old friends together, but a mistake in the caption quickly revealed that Geri was not the one who made the post.
Alongside the images, the caption read: ‘I sent images to Pippa and asked her to make any necessary adjustments.’
‘Happy birthday @officialmelb! Hope you have an amazing day! (party emojis).’
A few minutes later, the caption was modified to remove the first line, but not before eagle-eyed fans spotted it and flooded the comments section with saucy remarks.
Fans shared: ‘Awesome! That’s a very heartfelt birthday post!’; ‘I keep updating it but it’s still there’; ‘The caption was changed… But we all saw it’; ‘Confirmation celebrities don’t even post legit birthday messages’;
‘When your social media person does a copy and paste’; ‘*insert warm greeting*’; ‘Is anyone else singing ‘Goodbye, My Friend’? While reading this?!’
Others were concerned for ‘Pippa’, joking: ‘Bye Pippa, I know you’re gone, you said you’re gone but I can still feel you here’; ‘When your social media person does a copy and paste’; ‘Pippa you’re in danger girl’.
Fans have mercilessly mocked Geri Halliwell after she wished Mel B a happy birthday on Thursday with a message for her team accidentally copied into the caption.
‘Sending lots of love to Pippa on this day, she might need a glass of wine or two’; ‘Friendship never ends… unless Pippa gets involved’; ‘Pippa, I’d tweak this to add a bit more sincerity’; ‘Honey, you need to sort out your social media manager’.
The gaffe will certainly do little to ease tensions following their “frosty” meeting at Victoria Beckham’s 50th birthday party last month.
The star-studded evening brought all five Spice Girls together to party, but Mel and Geri’s greeting was said to have been tense.
Despite posing for a smiling photo with Victoria, Mel C and Emma Bunton, Sun She said Mel and Geri were feeling tense.
Prior to the reunion, Mel B claimed in an interview that Geri had been lying about her age for years and that she was not 51.
The Spice Girls’ Instagram account shared a series of snaps of the longtime friends together, but a mistake in the caption quickly revealed that Geri was not the one who made the post.
As well as throwbacks to their Spice Girls heyday, Geri also shared more recent images with Mel by her side.
A few minutes later, the caption was modified to remove the first line, but not before eagle-eyed fans spotted it and flooded the comments section with saucy remarks.
Despite travelling the world together in the band’s heyday, Scary Spice claimed Geri always kept her passport close to her chest, so she “still doesn’t know” how old she is.
Following the interview, the pair were said to have kept their distance from each other at Victoria’s party, before Mel allegedly tried to offer her an olive branch.
A source told the publication: ‘Mel tried to smooth things over with Geri at the party but it didn’t go as planned. She was laughing it all off but Geri didn’t seem interested in hearing what she had to say and walked away.
‘When it came to taking the group photo, Geri stood as far away from Mel as possible, which was awkward to see.
‘Geri wanted to be there to celebrate and have a good laugh with everyone, not talk to Mel about the embarrassing things he had said about her.’
Mel previously said on Piers Morgan’s Life Stories that she, Geri and her had previously slept together.
In the video, Piers is seen asking Mel: “You came here to be brutally honest: did you or didn’t you sleep with Geri Halliwell? Did you sleep with her?”
Mel, who seems shy, tries to avoid the question at first, telling Piers: “Yes. We all sleep together in one bed, but not like this, all of us.”
But Piers kept asking: “Did you sleep with Geri like that?”, to which Mel smiled and nodded, while Piers, surprised, replied: “Yes? Really?”.
