Two men were charged with reckless driving after a Ford Ute was caught speeding with a man lying on the hood of the vehicle while allegedly giving the middle finger to a traffic camera.

The truck is said to have broken down at a speed of 119 km/h in a 100 km/h zone last October, with the extra passenger hanging from the car after 2 a.m. with a bottle in his hand.

The vehicle was traveling on Indian Ocean Drive in Gabbada, approximately 50 miles north of the Perth CBD.

WA police claimed: ‘[The man on the bonnet was] with a bottle in one hand, and gesturing at the speed camera with the middle finger of his other hand.’

Footage from the speed camera mounted at a fixed location also revealed that the driver allegedly stuck a bottle out of the window during the nighttime drive.

The 23-year-old alleged driver was charged with one count of reckless driving, one count of driving, causing or permitting a vehicle with a counterfeit, replica or false plate to drive on a road, and another count of use of a vehicle without a permit on a road.

A 31-year-old man was found guilty of reckless driving.

Both men will appear before the Joondalup Magistrates Court on Friday.
