A man has been left with serious injuries after being gored during a bullish event in Spain.
The 54-year-old man, named in the local media only as JG, suffered injuries to his arm, chest and "anal area" after being immobilized on a fence during the event in Medina del Campo.
JG underwent urgent surgery at the scene before being transferred to a hospital in the city of Valladolid, where he remains in a very "very serious" condition.
A 54-year-old man, called only JG, was left with wounds on his arm, chest and "anal area" after being gored by a bull during a celebration in Spain
The incident occurred during the last day of the bullfight on Saturday around 9.15 a.m., according to El Norte de Castilla.
The bull was being escorted through a section of fields near the beginning of the route by jockeys when it was released.
The video captures the moment when the young bull descends on JG, who is immobilized against a wire fence that borders a nearby cheese factory.
For almost a minute, the animal strikes the man with his horns, despite the efforts of passers-by to scare him.
The riders also can not distance the bull at first, since it has its back to them.
Finally, the bull removes its horn, which seems to be covered in blood, before fleeing towards the urban section of the route.
The man was gored for almost a minute during the event in Medina del Campo on Saturday before being taken to the hospital in serious condition.
JG was the only person who was injured during the event, although several bulls had to be shot down after running off the field and injuring themselves
JG remains in a wrinkled pile against the fence until a police vehicle arrives to take him to the hospital.
He is the only person injured during the event, reports El Norte, although several other bulls had to be killed after running off the road and injuring themselves.
The town hall of Medina del Campo said that it is an isolated incident, but we have to say that it is recommended not to remain where the incident occurred, according to the rules. #################################
Jose Maria Magro, local tourism councilor, said: "The municipal regulations say that participants are prohibited from presenting in that area.
"The behavior of the riders was fine since it was not possible to get to the scene on horseback without the risk of things getting worse."
