Tributes have poured in for a beloved grandfather who died in a horror multi-vehicle crash that left his loved ones “devastated”.
John Iordanis, 58, was driving his green Ford Falcon when the vehicle collided with three other cars and a truck on the Southern Expressway in Adelaide’s south at about 4.50pm on Friday.
Christies Beach’s grandfather died at the scene. He was only 8.5 km from his house.
Friends and family have been shocked by the death of a much-loved father, grandfather and colleague.
His stepdaughter Natalie Chown told Daily Mail Australia that he was a loving and caring person.
“We can’t express how devastated we are,” he said.

Ms Chown added on Facebook: “You have been there through all of life’s ups and downs. We are heartbroken that you were taken so soon.”
Others remembered Mr. Iordanis as a kind and lively man.
“I’ll miss your cheeky smile, our chats and our jokes,” one person wrote.
“One of the best human beings I have ever met, always loved to laugh. I was devastated to hear the news,” wrote another person.
Judy Pearson, who knew and worked with Iordanis for 25 years, said she was still coming to terms with the tragedy.
“I was very surprised to receive the phone call last night,” he wrote.
‘(I) laughed a lot with you. Many people at work will miss you. I still can’t believe it.
Police are investigating whether Mr. Iordanis had a medical episode before the crash and whether it could have been a factor. 7 News reported.

The drivers of the other three vehicles (pictured) and the truck were taken to hospital, where they were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
A South Australian Police spokesperson told Daily Mail Australia that no further updates were available as investigations continue.
The Southern Expressway and Main South Road in Huntfield Heights were closed for several hours before the road reopened.
Mr Iordanis was the 44th person to be killed on South Australian roads this year.
