A South Korean Olympic shooter who went viral for what fans called her “main character energy” in Paris has landed an acting role as, you guessed it, an assassin.
The 32-year-old pistol shooter won legions of fans – and a silver medal – at Paris 2024 after competing in the women’s 10m air pistol event, where she lost out on gold just behind compatriot Oh Ye-jin.
However, both her style and precision shocked those watching around the world after she calmly told reporters she had “nothing to improve” in her Olympic performance, and now her natural “presence” has landed her a screen role in her home country.

The South Korean was dubbed the “coolest person in the world” after competing in the women’s 10m air pistol event at the Chateauroux Shooting Centre in Paris this summer, with her daughter’s stuffed elephant strapped to her hand.
Yeji will star in a South Korean film company Asia Lab production, a spin-off series called “Crush,” a spokesperson told AFP on Friday.
The shooter will play a hitwoman in the show, directed by Lee JungSub, alongside Indian actress and influencer Anushka Sen.
A clip posted on Asia Lab Instagram Page It shows Yeji confidently adjusting the position of her co-star Sen’s gun in the film.
The medalist began shooting in sixth grade after convincing her parents that she should try the sport.
At the Paris Olympics, Kim was widely described as “badass” as she sported a pair of custom-made “Terminator-style” shooting glasses and a white baseball cap, while carrying her daughter’s stuffed elephant in her right hand.
South Korean Kim Ye-ji was photographed competing at the 2024 Olympics in Paris; the breakout star signed with an agency in August in her native Seoul to take on acting roles.
Kim, who was hailed as “the coolest person in the world,” kept even cooler by using a handheld fan during her performance in Paris.
Kim was photographed holding her daughter’s stuffed elephant in her right hand, which was not the one she was shooting with.
The 31-year-old finished second and took home the first medal of her Olympic career.
Images of her in action at the Shooting World Cup in Baku in May also went viral on social media.
The video in question shows Kim winning gold in Baku in the 25m pistol competition, setting a new world record in the process.
Commenting on the viral video, one viewer wrote: “This is the coolest thing anyone has ever looked while breaking a world record.”
Another replied: “This is the coldest shit. I’m obsessed.”
A third comment read: “And she’s just so nonchalant about it, oh she’s the coldest main character ever.”
